Watched a few this weekend, all of them duds.
How to be Single - 5/10
The only reason I gave this one such a high rating was because of Rebel Wilson and Leslie Mann. Really wish that Dakota Johnson wasn't in it. A cardboard cutout would have done just as well.
The Angry Birds Movie - 3/10
Just no.
Keanu - 4/10
The cat was cute. Scratch that. The cat was adorable. And that's about all I have to say about that one.

Holmes with Ian McKellan, meh. The young boy in the movie was good and he is going to go places but overall I give it a 6/10

Star Trek Beyond - 6/10
Well, this was better than the one with the whale, so it has that going for it. In the same way, it takes a lot of plausible scifi and blends it with something seemingly implausible. If they changed the scene with the massive horde's destruction I'd have given this a better score.

The Accountant, ( 7.5/10 ) critics kind of trashed it while giving it some compliments, and that may have influenced my experience, but I still enjoyed most of the flick. There was enough suspense as well as action to keep you interested. Ben Affleck performance was believable enough, but my guess is it can be a challenge to pull off autistic behaviour in a convincing way.
Also saw Keeping up with the Joneses ( sadly I give it a 6/10 ) and it breaks my heart to do that because who is not to like in the cast?
I mean Jon Hamm for goodness sake! a slender and almost unrecognizable Zack Galifinakis! Sasha's wife Isla Fisher, oh and that amazon of an actress Gal Gadot! I suppose the writers are to blame because the actors can only perform what is written there for them. Too bad we wasted 2 free admissions using our pin codes....ha ha
2023 had better show some promise or else!

Watched The Phenom today. It was only mediocre - too talky, the background music was too loud, not enough action. It was a great idea, however it was very poorly executed. The acting was only as good as it was allowed to be by the so-so script. It's only worth 2/10.
Currently watching The Forest. Not sure if I'm going to make it all the way through or if sleep will win. It started at 9pm, it's now 9:52. So far I give it a 6/10.

hunt for wilderpeople! 10/10 loved it! really well done, quirky and fun solid story great cast. definitely worth the watch! it's about a boy and his foster father who run away into the woods to prevent being taken back into the foster care system and they are chased all through the movie
Captain fantastic 9/10, really good, different fairly refreshing comedy about a father raising his family completely off the grid.. only to have to leave their home and enter into the real worldWhen life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

So I ended up watching the rest of The Forest. I've reevaluated my rating, it's now a 5/10. Ho hum.
