OMG!! I knew that song had touched me, with my feet tapping and a grin on my face, but Last night at the Golden Globe Awards ( I forgot they were being televised this year ) this happened!!
M. M. Keeravani, Kala Bhairava, and Rahul Sipligunj have won Best Original Song at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards for “Naatu Naatu” from RRR.
Just look who their competition was!!
They were nominated alongside Taylor Swift (Where the Crawdads Sing’s “Carolina”),
Rihanna (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s “Lift Me Up”),
Lady Gaga (Top Gun: Maverick’s “Hold My Hand”),
and Gregory Mann (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’s “Ciao Papa”).
woo hoo! I wish I had seen the acceptance speech.

I watched Lyle, Lyle Crocodile today and tapped my toes to all of it! Javier Bardem, perfectly silly in it and Shawn Mendes voices the singing Lyle. 9/10

i did it....signed up for Apple+ , first 7 days free, then $8.95 a month ( ouch! ) BUT.....I have already binged 4 more episodes of Severance, that first one was free and I've been frustrated to know what happened after! Now I JUST finished watching Spirited. Such an all out entertaining film, a musical wrapped in a comedy with social, moral and political messages cleverly sprinkled throughout with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
Then there is the utter joy that it is based on/around/about CHRISTMAS!! I 100% give this movie an A+, a 10 out of 10, even though @Lynn49 will never watch it because she hates Will Ferrell!
I gotta say Ryan Reynolds and him can both sing ( and fake dance ) respectably enough to carry each scene along and all I will say now is go WATCH IT!!
You'll laugh yer arse off at the Good Afternoon song!!
You'll cry your eyes out in a few spots. Enjoy!!Last edited by walkonby; Sat, Feb 18th, 2023 at 04:47 PM.

Just returned from seeing John Wick 4. All free admissions for the 3 of us, free popcorn, DS got 50% off his Concession food. Only went because the coupons were expiring March 31st.
I may have posted that for ANY movie, I either FF ( when at home ) or close my eyes at any gory fight scenes or stupidity. Well.....lol!! the joke was on me because this film was 2 hrs. 49 minutes long and I swear only .49 minutes of it was dialogue!
Even my DH had to laugh at how many times Keanu was slammed into brick walls, cars, and thrown off places landing on concrete and yet....he lived to fight on! Give me a break!
I laughed out loud at THE best " actor " in the whole movie.....the dog! The dog who likes to attack bad guys crotches.....ha ha
oh, a rating? meh? 6/10 and that was for the dog!

@Purdee is the main villain played by Austin Butler? ( he's the actor who portrayed Elvis in the most recent Elvis movie with Tom Hanks ) I watched a trailer for GOTG 3 and saw a flash of a scene with a totally bald Austin Butler, he was trying to look menacing, but I kind of laughed cuz he is such a pretty man! ha ha Were still going to go se the film anyways.......
eventually.
