warning! Do NOT rent or watch The Substance unless you have a cast iron gut! OMG, not sure what to think of this film. Demi Moore for sure should win the Oscar for her incredibly stark, graphic and honest performance! Was there a deeper meaning and /or message to this movie? The movie ( just mho ) fizzled in the end. Turned into a combo sci fi/slasher sort of performance and I question why they chose that way to go. 6/10 ( Margaret Qualley ..... your Momma must be turning 25 shades of red right now! )

Such an oddball movie BUT I couldn't stop watching it!! Maybe it was because of Amy Adams and that adorable kid who played her 2 year old son ( they always use identical twins ). It's on Netflix, called NightBiotch ( ha ha ) . The completely bat shiot crazy premise of the film aside, allows for emotional content to be delivered from a mother's perspective and was astounding. Yes I cried plenty. There are many comical moments but more poignant moments of how being a SAHM is both rewarding but all consuming when the kids are very young. 8/10
