Don Jon - 8/10 It was actually pretty good.
blue jasmine - 8/10
cate blanchette and alec baldwin
I just saw this last night. I agree completely with you wob (wait, what? did I just say that?)
I give it 8/10 because Emma Stone in a short skirt gives it a bonus point.
I have a feeling that all six of Spidey's enemies will be in the next movie and a new character (not evil) will be introduced.
Beauty and the Briefcase with Hilary Duff. 8/10
I am busting wanting to say stuff about it but won't 10/10 for certain! I consider this a must see movie!!

We're the Millers 7/10
It was pretty funny.
Heaven Is For Real, 7/10, not everyone's sort of flick that is for sure, there were 7 of us in the theatre! ( and I went alone) lol. Good acting by the little kid playing the 4 year old. Based on a true story, which I did not know.
12 Years A Slave, well it took until now for me to get the nerve to rent this. I did find it moving, but just sort of slow in parts. 8/10
Has anybody seen Angelina Jolie in Maleficient?
Is it good? How do you rate it out of 10?
Thx.
Perfect actress? Hmmm you may be right.
By the way, guess who is an executive producer.
Some chick named Jolie. Angelina Jolie.
Never heard of her

Rarely get to a theatre these days. Plus a movie has to be big screen worthy for me to spend my hard earned loonies there so will be looking forward to a review too, wob :-). Love Jolie, one of my faves.
*reading this again, sorry for any pressure dear wob! just wanted to consider what you thought of it.
Same here, Dee, but I like to read everyone's posts and reviews here, then wait to see them much later!
well the pressure is sure on I'd say for me. I won't let you all down, will post the review after I get back ( it'll be close to midnight or possibly later though!! ) Other things here made the late screening the only one available for us.
Oh and Shwa I had NO idea Angelina was an Exec. Producer on it! lol!! At first there was abit of controversy when her 3 yr. old DD Vivienne was cast as the young Aurora, but the real reason was revealed afterwards. It was because the 3-4 yr. old's they auditioned were all too scared of Angie in makeup and horns, but Vivienne knows it's just Mommy, so she was cast!
Neighbors
Zac Efron, Dave Franco, Rose Byrne, Seth Rogen
6/10 I just didn't find it very funny. I was pretty well waiting for the movie to be over 30 mins into it.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues -5/10.... MINUS five.... yeah, it was that bad, I'm not letting DH choose the movies anymore
Percy Jackson and Olympians :The Lightning Thief 7/10... it was for DD, she's into the Rick Riordan books right now.. it was so much better than that Will Ferrell drivel
^^
GoJays I could not agree with you more! That waste of time Anchorman 2 was the unfunniest thing I had to suffer through, thank goodness I slept through a chunk of it ( it was my DH choice here too, we rented it )
o.k. so on to the good stuff...... Maleficent was Magnificent!! Yes I do give this 10/10.....I bought into all of it. Can I say Anjolina's make up was completely appropriate, and that evil laugh....top notch!
A real great story, and yes a twist!! If you take really small kids be prepared to have them somewhat frightened in parts of it as it seems to be a darker retelling.
Well.....I totally expected it to be but since it shows in a few screens at staggered times at this theatre ( some 3D screens, some regular ) I was in the last one of the night ( after 10:00 p.m. and in 3D ) and there may have been 40 people tops! :icon_scratch:
That being said, at least my DD and I were comfortable, not all squished in like sardines. That time slot is just too late for some to manage and not everyone wants to pay extra for the 3D costs ( ours were 2 free admissions thanks to my Scene points! )
My DD is gone to see Maleficent this evening. I really want to go see it myself- especially with everyone saying how good it is.
I think Angelina Jolie is prefect for this role. I always joked that she is so pretty but that there's something about her. It's like her hair is going to turn into snakes or something. LOL, anyway, thanks for the review. I am really looking forward to seeing it now. :)
Normally we don't have matinee but for some reason I decided to check the listings and they were showing Maleficent at noon today, AND it just so happens that both kids are at school. The stars must be aligned. lol.
The movie itself was a 10/10! I loved it!
The experience was more like a 5/10. They were only playing it in the AVX3D, which I hate but as I said to the guy we can't go to the later one (at 2) because the kids need to be picked up. He actually said that it's a kids movie and why would we be going now? I told him that it's not an appropriate movie for a 3 or 5 year old.
So, we get our drinks and start walking to the theatre and I did a MASSIVE WIPEOUT! Like full sprawled across the floor. All I could do was laugh. I'm sure it was quite the sight to see. Anyway, apparently someone dropped their drink and they forgot to put the sign out when they mopped.
So yeah, the experience not so good but the movie was well worth the fall and embarrassment. lol
I must have watched Smokin Aces at least 10 times over the years now, yet whenever it comes on tv I CANNOT resist! It was on again last night. What a great movie. I do rate this oldie but goodie 10/10
I love all the performances, the cast is so diverse. The first time I saw it who knew who Taraji P Henson was? but since then I loved her as the adoptive Mom in The Curious case Of Benjamin Button, in The Karate Kid and watch her every week as a detective on Person Of Interest.
Ryan Reynolds ( drool ) and Jeremy Piven ( who I am not a fan of really, but his role is great ). Oh and what about Alicia Keys!? Yikes she owned that part.
Realized just last night the guy playing the mustached hotel Security Supervisor was Matthew Fox from the series Lost.
So many more people are in this, check it out next time it comes on the tube.
