@Linda Evans you are a much braver soul than me! I could not even watch the trailer for The Black Phone when it came on the tv.
Have you ever witnessed someone scrambling to find the remote with their eyes shut while yelling " no, no , no ! " ?? That was me the first time the trailer jumped onto the tv screen with no warning.
Honestly, they should make an announcement that they'll be showing a preview from a scary movie next.

Believe it or not the 3 of us watched The Adventures Of Pluto Nash the other night. We have ALL loved that movie.
It got so trashed by the critics when it came out ( way long ago...in 2002 ) and I don't know why. It was quirky, but still had funny parts.
AND.... who doesn't adore that Eddie Murphy signature laugh?

Thor Love and Thunder.. so good to see Jane Foster getting a decent storyline without pining over the boy.

Am I a Katie Holmes fan? Not really, but I CAN tolerate her. I watched this quite silly movie on Amazon Prime called Miss Meadows. It's from 2014 but I had never heard about it before?
Basically it's about vigilantism, but her portrayal of the tap dancing sugary sweet teacher who says " Toodle-loo " with a white gloved wave instead of goodbye, ciao, or see ya later is delivered comically with Katie's crooked smile.
I'll give it an 8/10 for effort, but most people would probably pass on this flick.

Weird (about Al Yankovic) on Roku. Give it 8/10 for getting the 1980s looks right and all the actors looking like celebrities (like Rex Smith) in crowd scenes. Even one of Coolio!
Could tell which parts of movie were fiction (Madonna as a drug lord) but it was this line that got my first laugh. One of Al's university friends says, "The bathroom in the bus station has pretty good acoustics." Context was Al's saying he could not afford a recording session for his just delivered "My Bologna" song to his friends, inspired by a sandwich session while "My Sharona" plays on the radio.

"Another One Rides the Bus" should be any bus commuter's anthem.
"This is the Way." The Mandalorian

@Ciel21 I watched maybe 1/2 that Weird Al flick but I must have dozed off because I cannot remember the end of it? I'll have to revisit it.

This morning as my big pot of soup simmered I watched The Menu on Disney+
Oh WOW!! I mean yuck and argh!! Jeepers!! RUN!!

o.k. it was a good flick, cast appropriately with some of my favourite actors, each portraying the most despicable human beings.
I do give this a 10/10 despite containing tiny bits of sadness with graphic disturbing scenes when it ended ( and how it ended ).
But meh? It's entertainment. ha ha

Today I invested 3+ hours on a film ( Netflix ) and was absolutely glued to every scene! What a great film! It is called RRR and this is the basic IMDB description.

A fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their journey away from home before they started fighting for their country in the 1920s.

Well, talk about charismatic? the 2 male leads are amazing. One particular comical but exhausting scene to film ( I would imagine ) is when the have the big " dance off " .
Much of the fighting scenes are brutal and of course hilariously fake, but the physical demand placed on these 2 actors was impressive. Anyways, now I am trying to find
the translation for all the songs they sang in the film....so heartfelt that I MUST know the lyrics!!

OMG!! I knew that song had touched me, with my feet tapping and a grin on my face, but Last night at the Golden Globe Awards ( I forgot they were being televised this year ) this happened!!

    M. M. Keeravani, Kala Bhairava, and Rahul Sipligunj have won Best Original Song at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards for “Naatu Naatu” from RRR.

Just look who their competition was!!

They were nominated alongside Taylor Swift (Where the Crawdads Sing’s “Carolina),
    Rihanna
(Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s “Lift Me Up”),
Lady Gaga (Top Gun: Maverick’s “Hold My Hand”),
and Gregory Mann (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’s “Ciao Papa”).

woo hoo! I wish I had seen the acceptance speech.
