yep.
when an airplane is full and when there's no room for large bags
as bad as when you send food back in a restaurant
never know what goes on in the kitchen with the chefs

I remember decades ago where heavy carry-ons would be put under the seat... with tighter legroom, everyone now rushes to be the first to shove things into the overhead compartment (eg large winter jackets). Even if you are one of the first to board, sometimes the flight attendents stuff is in your overhead bin. Perhaps the flight attendent's stuff some be checked....
Laptops? Electronics? I find myself replacing my damaged luggage too often after a few trips from rough handling. Cruise ships are brutal too.
I'm seeing a secondary check for oversized carry-on's at the gate. Kudo's.
