I had considered it, but in the end went with a 40-gallon standard hot water tank.....for a single-member household.
Yes. As part of a boiler replacement. On demand hot water. Saved on hydro for electric hot water tank. Minimal cost of extra gas. Unlimited hot water. Love it!

My Dad has it in both of this house and they love it. They love the instant hot water and have not had any issues
Did you purchase it or is it a rental? If you rent was the installation an extra cost added or was it part of your rental fee? Just wondering.

My DD has had one for 3 years with absolutely no complaints. They never run out of hot water and no gas is wasted keeping water hot. They are renting the tank.
Was the one you had before a rental? Just curious as to how difficult it is to get rid of rental when buying a tankless one. Anyone know how long tankless water heaters last for?

My Mom loved her tankless (purchased) hot water heater - but could never figure out why the dishes didn't get clean in the dishwasher. The water had to come quite a distance to the kitchen - so it never got hot when the dishwasher ran. We figured the solution would be to run the hot water before turning on the dishwasher to warm it up.

I connected mine to the cold water line and let it heat the water to the temp it needs. It does not assume hot water input. Maybe yours can be set somehow to heat the water as it needs it?

As I said ours is over 10 years old and newer models probably address this. Definately saves natural gas. With a conventional tank water heater it would have to been replaced by now.
