Sobeys and Maple Leaf Protinis

Hey fellow couponers. Really good deal at Sobeys this week for the Maple Leaf Protini Snacks. They are on for 3.99 and there is a $1.00 coupon out there I recently picked up from a tearpad which makes them 2.99. They are great for a protein snack for work or school. They are chicken slices with apple or salsa.

The meat lady at Sobeys told me they used to be 5.99 and they were throwing out a bunch last week in the garbage because no one was buying them. Such a shame, so they reduced the prices and they are now selling.

Get them while they last.

They are regularly priced at $3.99 at WALMART but I still think they are way overpriced and will not pay that for such a small package - even with a coupon.....

I agree, not worth the money. Don't let the pretty packaging fool you!
Nanny would say, "They can keep their Protinis on the grocery store shelf, they have a lot of nerve charging that price for so little value."

I've seen them for the first time a couple of months ago and they were priced $5.99. I thought no way. Later I scored them at the same Loblaws on special $1.94 and a while after, at 0.99. Bought the whole bunch of these and used all my $1 off. I didn't like them as much as a snack but I loved them pan fried with veggies.

These make the perfect size of chicken salad! But truthfully, the bigger packages of sliced chicken are usually a better value.

If I found them cheap, I'd try them. But in my experience, chicken freezes pretty well when cooked, especially if you have a Foodsaver or something similar. So we all need to buy some chicken breasts on sale (thighs would work too), cook , slice snd freeze.

I saw them regular price at Fortino's for $3.99 so perhaps Maple Leaf has dropped the price. I wouldn't pay more than $1 after coupons, and fortunately there is a good chance of that happening when they have to mark them down because no one is buying them :) lol

I agree, they are way too overpriced for a few pieces of chicken. What were they thinking trying to sell them at $6.99? :yikes: Even at $3.99 I wouldn't consider them, lmao. Maple Leaf must really want this product to succeed, there has been tons of marketing for these protinis lately. I've been seeing it all over instagram, online, and samples on the streets
