Bestie and I are road-tripping to Calgary for the May long weekend. Does anybody have any suggestions for good, wallet-friendly things to do? We're on a bit of a budget, but I haven't been back to Calgary since I was 4, so we'd like to do something fun. Also, any suggestions for a nice places for good eats?
Also, does anyone have any Calgary entertainment book coupons they are not using and would like to trade for coupons?
Thanks! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Things I did to keep costs low on a Calgary trip.
- stayed at hotels in the NW part of the city
- explored the wind-powered LRT to get around the city
- walked/explored the downtown. Do some shopping?
- since you have a car, you can also take a short drive to the Rockies (Banff) or Edmonton to the North
- If the recent weather continues, you can try to make snowman.

Have you ever been to Banff? It is only about an hours drive from Calagary and is sooooo beautiful!! I recommend going there and have a picnic near one of the gorgeous lakes or go for a hike! Hiking is free!

I agree with the above comments:
- The zoo is great! It's still recovering from last year's flood but most exhibits are now open. The penguins are my favourite
- Shopping downtown or Cross Iron Mills (just N on Deerfoot)
- 17th Ave has lots of great restaurants and pubs
- There is a park entry fee to go to Banff (its a National Park) but Canmore is closer and there's still lots to see/do
Hope you have a great weekend!!

Thanks to everyone for their great suggestions! We are definitely going to do a bunch of shopping and possibly try to do Banff or Canmore. At the rate I'm going, I may need to sell my soul to pay for all the shopping I'd like to do. Does anyone know if Coach takes souls as payment? ;-)

Have you considered Coach knockoffs for savings?
