I scroll quickly through the blog every day so I voted "yes". Considered voting "no" because so many posts aren't useful to me. The one at the top of the blog, as I type, is a prime example of something I consider pretty irrelevant and not much of a "deal", just more of an advertisement: Swiss Chalet Special Offer: Free Perogies or Spring Rolls with Order.
On the other hand, I don't have kids but I do find the posts about deals on children's items useful -- I sometimes go to baby showers and I have gotten in on several good deals this way.
A choice somewhere between 'yes' and 'no' would have allowed me to more accurately vote.Last edited by DianneS; Fri, May 16th, 2014 at 05:28 PM.

I do read the blogs. They provide information quickly and effortlessly. I'm too busy with a toddler to search for deals etc.

I read the blogs - I do feel it is an important part of the Smartcanucks site. And I appreciate that people are making the effort to find the deals and write up the blog posts.
That being said, I do think it needs some tweaking, and posts need more research.
Some Examples:
Amazon.ca post for a tool that was on for $99 - regular $4xx.xx! I mentioned it to my dad since it was such a great deal - he informed me that those tools sell for about $100 at any store. Looked it up at Home Depot and it was $100. So just because something is x% off, it does NOT make it a good deal.
The recent post for Black Diamond cheese at Foodbasics - it is an excellent deal! But there's no mention of the $0.75 off coupons that can be used with BD cheese products. Why bother mentioning the cheese at all if you're not going to mention the coupon? Why not just highlight the deal in the weekly post for the grocery deals?
What I'm saying is, I love the posts for daily deals and news coupons, etc. - but a bit more checking would be nice before most of these posts are posted.

I find a lot of deals on the blog. With small kids, I don't have the time to search through the forum for deals. I go directly to the blog, read what I find relevant and then go to the trading or flyers section. I'm still not aware of a lot of sections of the forum so the blog summarizes what's going on in the forum.

I voted Yes, but only because I look at the main blog for the IMAGES ONLY, I don't bother reading the stuff below it. They could save a lot of time and money by just writing the title of the deal below the IMAGE and link to the deal, we can do the rest from there... Meaning, I can do without that blurb below the deals

It is a blog, it is meant to have words (and google gives preference to indexing pages with more text)
