I don't understand why there would be a price difference between when you scanned the item and they scanned the item - shouldn't the system give the same price?

There may be a small dust cup on the side of the belt. The cashier or store manager may be able to get the card back from the inside of the belt.

If not, when you ask for the replacement card, ask if you can get your Club Sobeys points from today added. Doesn't hurt to ask.

They checked the dust cup but no card...thankfully I had one of those tiny little cards so I did get my points. Replacement card reordered and on its way.

When I worked cash, and one of the stores closed, you would not believe what we found under the belt. We found loonies, toonies and even $20 dollar bills.
