What is wrong with this world? My roommate is moving out and she just had her moving guy ( guy with a pick up) walk into her room with dirty work boots, when he asked if he should remove them, she said no " i cant afford to pay you to keep taking your shoes on and off." so i said " well he cant walk on my nice 1 year old cream carpets with dirty boots, its raining outside." she said " well i cant pay him to keep taking them off so Keep them on." I said " that makes not sence i cant afford to replace the carpet i just replaced." back and forth it went as you can immagine ( and i am scottish people, i havent got a nice temperment when i am angry) but still the man has his shoes on. My head is going to spin right off my shoulders in a minute.

Do you have old sheets or towels you can lay down? That may help...

Usually they lay down sticky wide tape to protect rugs, floors...obviously this guy isn't a professional. Geting in a good carpet cleaner after she's moved out seems like a small price to pay, to get that dame out of your life! Adios, bad rubbish!
You could try contacting that boor's boss and get money to cover the cleaning costs...take pictures!

Apparently she is coming to clean the carpets tomorrow so we will see, but in all my years of leasing out rooms i have never ever seen this one before.

Send her a bill if she does not get all the dirt out. It takes a second to put on boot protectors or to lay down a cheap plastic barrier. I dont blame you. I would be super pissed.
Love like crazy everyday and smile.

Did you get a damage deposit from her? If so I'd use that to clean the floors professionally and tell her she isn't allowed back in and that her damage deposit will pay for the damages she left.
I'd be sure to take pictures whatever route you go. Better to be safe than sorry!
Good luck

Yep, that ^
Be thankful that you're done with her and that your new roommate will be more considerate.

Wow! Good thing she is moving out. She doesn't seem to have respect. I agree re: getting her to clean it, and take it out of the damage deposit. If she makes a snarky comment, you should say that since she is so cost conscious, it probably would've cost her less to pay the movers 5 seconds to put booties on. Glad you are rid of her!

I agree, if she doesn't get it cleaned perfected, use the damage deposit money to clean it. That's what it's for.
