Thread: NOT a fan of summer

I will never, ever complain about hot summer days. Our summers are too short to begin with and when it's 35 or 36 degrees with the humidex, all I do is remember those minus 30 to minus 40 degree days we had in the winter. I even went to work with my thick fleece pajamas one day and put 2 other sets of clothes on top of them just to stay warm. Wish summer was longer.

Definitely not a fan of the surge of mosquitoes after a spell of rain! Takes impressive arm waving trying to avoid inhaling them.

I'm with you guys on this one. I enjoy the heat, especially when visiting friends at the lake and we have central air. I'm way more cranky when its freezing out and I'm stuck in the house or trying to drive on the ice.
I am also with you guys on this one specially Torontogal " THE COLD WINTER IS MY PRISON". Younger, I use to love winter and after that not so much. NOW, it is different. We dont have a summer anymore. Last year alone again, only 4 months without snow. That is way to long and it makes people going crazy. Summer peoples smills and are more happy. Wen I have hot flases wen it is hot, yes it makes me crazy but it dont last.
SO FOR ME, SPRING, SUMMER FALLS ARE MY SEASON ....................................Last edited by ticul; Wed, Jul 16th, 2014 at 09:48 AM.

I think this summer has been fair so far. Its had some hot days in a row for those summer lovers and it has had some cooler days for those summer haters (me!!!!). If we could keep this happy median of give and take then I wouldn't have a problem.
The cooler breaks allows me to actually get something done then sitting on my behind all day because its too hot and I have a massive headache from the heat. I love cooking and baking and in the summer I rarely do any.
Today I think its like 20 and I'm loving it! Got all the windows open with a nice breeze. Got to sleep wrapped up in the covers like I like. And tonight I'll be making a real dinner!Insert Clever Signature Here

I like the cooler temperatures but realize hotter weather helps make the berries and vegetables ripen faster -or we'd be waiting much longer for local produce to show up at the stores or markets!
2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
