Finally I bought eyeshadows! And I love them! Very high quality, never ever irritate my eyes, easy blendable and stay for quite a long time - even without a primer no creasing at all and amazing show of the colours!

Thank you so much for all the help. I'm thinking of buying also Urban Decay Naked Basics. I love that as well.

Great choice! Now that is a splurge

I've been eyeing that exact palette after hearing great things about it, but just can't justify the price for the amount of colours.

I love Kat Von D shadow, but it appears her whole line is being revamped and much of it is not available at the moment. I know most people go for the urban decay, but really Kat Von D is amazing. Smashbox shadow I have no issue with so long it's over the Urban Decay primer, in which case it is strongly pigmented. I'm waiting to see what Kat comes out with next, but i've been eyeing the too faced smokey eye palette for sometime and reviews are great, so I may go for that for my next palette. I'm an eye palette junkie but I don't really do neutrals.

I'm a makeup junky too and have read good things about all the palettes listed but nothing beats my beloved Wet 'n Wild- Walking on Eggshells trio.
Makes my hazel eyes pop, smooth, tons of pigment and like $3 at WM!

So yesterday I went to Sephora at Sherway Gardens Mall (Etobicoke) and bought some stuff, also Urban Decay Naked Basics eyeshadows. Love them! No smell! Very pigmented! No glitters, sparkles and so on... And the most important, don't irritate my sensitive eyes at all!

Also... I received a nice cute package of lipgloss, lipsticks samples (Yves Saint Laurent with a cute little wand, Marc Jacobs lip balm travel size sample (10 Makeout), etc...). I don't know, maybe they have some promotion, so if you want to buy something from Sephora, you should ask them about lipgloss sample package.

Now I'm done with eyeshadows, have the ones I was looking for.

I'm with leen1476--Lorac makes excellent eyeshadows. i love the pigmentation and texture.
I have always had good experiences with my Tarte shadows, and the palettes are a great value. I also really like Too Faced shadows and their shadow primer is the best I have come across. And you are also getting a great value of you find a palette of which you will use the majority of shades. I love their shade range the best.

The Smashbox Master Class 3 is a greta deal--I haven't used their shadows in a while and can't remember what the texture, wearability, etc. was like (I will start using them again and let you know).

Like others have said, it might be best to go to your local Sephora and try out a number of brands (perhaps you could create a list of the ones that received the most recommendations or best reviews here and bring it to a beauty advisor there). As mentioned above, different people react differently to various types and brands of shadow (things to consider are the sensitivity of your skin, the texture of your eyelids--by this, I mean both lines/crepiness and oiliness). And do let them know that you are not looking for anything too glittery, etc.

Good luck and let us know what you decide on

ETA: just saw your update. Glad you were able to find something you liked and sample new products as well

Now I'm thinking of buying a good blush. Reading numerous reviews and watching lots of videos on youtube, people say that Nars Orgasm blush is awesome. That's $33 in Sephora (excl. taxes). Really I don't want to spend that much money for a blush. But the Nars blush colour is really nice:

Long story short, today I ordered Sleek Gold Rose blush which is an exact dupe for Nars Orgasm (if I follow all the reviews, I'll wait and see). The price is $6.99 plus 98 cents for shipping from the UK. Yes, only 99 cents and no taxes! So totally I paid about $8.

Here is the Sleek Gold Rose:

Mia I'm curious about the Sleek blush you ordered. Please let me know if you like it or not. 98 cents is cheap for shipping!

The Body Shop All In One Blusher (blush) are good. Stila Convertible Color (cream blush and lipstick in one) is another good choice.

I'd be interested to know how you like Sleek too. The reviews on their products seem to equally divided on being garbage or being amazing.
Essence(sold at Shoppers) makes amazing blushes, I think they're 2.49 full price but get marked down to 1.49 quiet often. They're smooth, creamy, pigmented and last as long(if not longer) than most high end brands. Not a lot of shade options but they come out with limited releases every month or so.

I buy the essence at shoppers too, I find they're great to keep in your purse for the times you don't want to keep a make-up bag in your purse..incase you need a touch up..

Today I received Sleek Rose Gold blush. It is AMAZING!!! The pigmentation is comparable (!) to Nars, it does have a scent but the scent is very soft and gentle, doesn't bother at all, on the contrary, it's quite nice. Love, love, love my Sleek blush!!! Don't waste your money on Nars, go with Sleek! Very high quality, very affordable price!

And here what Wayne Goss says about that:
