Rant for Carelessness

I hope your DH and DS are suitably chastened about the situation and are now going to bring their own trail bags/gym sack/bum bag to carry their own snacks/supplies. No more digging into your backpack.

They should have accompanied you to help you search! Sometimes, males seem to need to be told "help me find -----" if they don't offer right away. Imagine if DH lost his wallet or DS his latest gadget or toy...you would not get peace and you'd be expected to troubleshoot with them/for them.

Maybe it's time to spring for a GPS gizmo to attach to your wallet on future hikes. If you have a cellphone, there has to be an app to "call" your gizmo, so you know where it is.

You don't have to cancel credit & debit cards.. You can contact and ask that a hold be put on them.. it will prevent use and you can take the hold off if you find it..

I doubt I will find it if no one has turned it in by now. AMEX and Visa didn't offer to put a hold on anything anyhow, their only answer was a new card. I couldn't wait for it to be found first, we don't carry cash and it will take at least a week to get new ones.

I couldn't ask DS to walk it again after two hours hiking, he's eight. And DH would be more lost than my wallet! ��

Visa took 5 business days to get the new card out to Mom after she called about her existing card. So, let's hope Canada Post gets yours out as fast or faster!

RBC replaced my non-functioning debit card the next working day with a temp card until a new one could be posted to me. Perhas your bank offers that service too.

I still have my debit card fortunately. And in other good news, one of my credit cards arrived today, so I'm all good!

That's horrible ! I lost my credit card once. Someone found it and handed it to the bank...the bank then called me to pick it up. I don't know who that person was but I am so grateful that honest people still exist !

So very sorry, I've lost my entire purse before and contacting everyone for everything in your wallet is a real pain.
