It's time for a happy news story.

I'll never forget the time I was in downtown Toronto (Harbourfront, for those who know the area) and had to wait an hour to retrieve my car - I didn't want to disturb the fox sleeping on the hood of the VW.This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I saw the fox last night on the news - so very sweet.
A few weeks ago, my son opened the hood of his Mustang - and there was a jackrabbit!

Oh, Andi...so precious...I'd let it sleep on our sofa anytime...and hug it, and kiss it.....
Beats the bear that according to neighbours walked by our livingroom window Monday evening! The same evening our DD, her hubby and our grandson were here visiting our cousins! And our grandson decided to walk home with his Daddy because it was such a sunny early evening! When our DD was leaving to drive home about a half-hour later, she came back inside to let us know that our garbage was strewn on the road, likely a raccoon......until our neighbours let my hubby know who the real culprit was! Didn't take me long to call their home to make sure everyone was safely home!!
Turns out it wasn't our garbage, lol, it had been dragged over to our yard from somewhere else...hubby put on latex gloves to tidy up....sheesh!Last edited by Lynn49; Thu, Jul 24th, 2014 at 12:45 PM.

Nope, Hon, north-central Ontario.....we're in the "burbs", but there's a creek that runs from the north that crosses the city, and bears, raccoons, tend to follow it into densely populated areas at certain times of the year. With the blueberries out now, I'm surprised they're still foraging around here, poor things.

We have a river running through the middle of the city - so a variety of critters can show up - most commonly deer, but once in a while moose, and even a cougar. Oh and coyotes, ew.

Where I live (Distillery District), the buildings around me date back to the 1830s. It was mostly industrial when I moved down here 13 yrs ago, so not too many buildings, and my street led almost to the Don River. Taking Lily dog for a walk in the mornings was always an adventure - we saw deer, foxes, skunks (look! a kitty cat, let`s go play!), ground hogs, racoons (we had one living in the chestnut tree outside the front door of the condo), red tailed hawks and a pair of peregrine falcons. My friend who lives in the suburbs has a family of racoons, a fox, a ground hog, a rat, 2 mice, and a young bunny living in the backyard. And lots of birds, the most obnoxious of which are the cardinal couple who bang on the window and scream if breakfast is late.

Lol, Andi....sounds very "Snow White" where you are! I just love critters.......even if the resident squirrel shredded one of my new swing cushions to make a home! Ooooooo...I was mad...until my hubby said, "Yes....one of your really cute squirrels....", smiling. Hmph. Fine. But he's going to somehow repair it (and don't anyone dare use the word, "duct tape"!) with a heat patch....black shouldn't be too hard to find?
