I also agree that the cashier you spoke with, even though may have been busy, showed poor judgment in the choice of words used. Management should be contacted to review customer service skills for sure. As for the money there would be nothing they could do unless the person was still in the store and they were able to locate them.

I was at an ATM in a casino one time and the person that used it prior to me must have forgotten to take their money. When I got there, the machine was beeping but nobody was standing there. I took the money out, did my transaction, then took the cash to the cashier area and told them what happened. Hopefully the person missing their money went to see if it was turned in.

Unfortunately, not everyone is honest, but there are always video cameras at tills, and ATM machines. I'm sorry for your loss.

Good new took everyone's suggestions and went back to RCSS and spoke with a manager who was sympathetic and explained that cashier cannot make that decision and that a manager should have been called. She was able to pull up receipt and gave me the money. Hooray! Hopefully it is self correcting behaviour and I won't do it again. So now I am a happy camper and treated my self to a few more bags of $.67 smart food! Thank you everyone for your advice and kind thoughts! It is nice to have people to vent to and are on your side!

Well if I went to a regular cashier they would have but the lines were big so went to the self checkout where apparently they don't do that.
