MrsS in our house produce was evil to the boys, my bro used to try to convince mom the onions on his pizza Friday night were all the veggies he needed for the whole weekend.
My other bro is the world pickiest eater and most fruits and veggies he does not eat for one reason or another. He is still like this too this day, watching him eat desserts is hilarious if it has fruit in or on it as he picked it all out. Of course his big sister who usually brings desserts might like to tease and torture him at times with how picky he is, opps did I forget he hates raisins lol.

I`d love to see what Gail would do with our budget. At least we no longer have to save for retirement...we`re already there.

Frugal - 8 tops for me and 2 tops and 1 pair of pants for DH for $8 at the bag sale, 4 items didn't fit and will be redonated, but at $8, who cares?!?
Not-so-frugal - savings...um ya...when cost of living keeps going up and my pay check doesn't account for inflation (hello Ministry of Transportation and Licence stickers, anyone?) because everyone is on a wage freeze, savings are few. This is why I am buying fall wardrobe for $8. I could definitely do better in the savings category but the money is not there. We also like to invest some of our money in "things" other than "funds." The Super Beetle DH bought with money from (free) cars (given to him) and parts is an investment. We scooped up the deal because he could flip it now for triple what he paid...but we want to enjoy it.
As a public sector worker, I recognize that the grass is greener in many respects. I can go to the chiropractor and it is covered by my benefits. Maintaining a budget (with good income) is a daily struggle (says the girl that bought the big country property). BUT we bought country because we can't afford the $450 000+ homes in the city. We furnished this place (mostly) with freebies!

So it turns out that she was making a big deal about an article because it was their wedding announcement. I thought it might be something like that. They shared it on Facebook, but the picture won't show.

Morning All,
Bathroom floor is sparkling and white:).
Going to wash the hallway floors shortly.
And do some much needed dusting in the living room as this seems to get overlooked on the boys chore list
MIL called to offer me her car today, however, I asked her if I could borrow it tomorrow as Independent Grocers seems to have some great bargains this week which is a nice change and also I can swing by FreshCo. as well, she will let me know either today or tomorrow, so time will tell.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day

Hallway floor is washed, might tackle the entryway/living room but time will tell. It's thunder and lightning here has been for the past hour, dh & ds1 are supposed to be home tomorrow but I sure hope they get out of the bush (moose camp) before the roads get too muddy as they have no back (FIL is back home). Anyways quite happy with what I got done while the guys were gone - 4bs of meatballs, 2 pots of soup and cleaning

Is anyone else stocking up on chicken this week, Freshco has Prime whole chickens for $2.00 lbs, WM has various chicken sales (breast, thighs, drumstricks) but they seem expensive, I just wish WM would state the weight on the chicken sales this week so a person could compare.
What are you buying/stocking up on this week.
My freezers and meat supply have been getting low as things are tight and really no great sales that I was able to take advantage of because I had no way of getting to the stores, with dh being gone and not having a ride or wheels.
Wishing everyone a good evening.

Was in Millbank this morning. In the 2 weeks since I was there last there were 30 towels and 6 baby afghans gone. Left almost 30 towels at the other store and got told the woman who cleaned them out this week called this morning to see if they had more. I like that stuff is selling but this is getting a little ridiculous. Don`t know how much longer I can keep working at this pace. My CC is liking it though.
Took a break today and celebrated a friend`s 65th birthday at King`s Buffet and on the way home stopped to visit a friend who had leg surgery last month. Now I need to get back to work.
Nancy I wish some little elves would come clean my house. One of these days I`ll decide I can`t stand looking at the dirt anymore and take some time to do it.
Nothing in the flyers really grabbed my attention. I did a quick shop Tues night when I picked up my meds...mostly eggs, milk, bread, stuff like that.

Frugal - put more items up for sale...how is it that I still have things left to sell??? :excited:Last box has been unpacked. Still stuff to do, still stuff to put away before I can say settling is finished, but NO MORE BOXES!!!
Not so frugal - bought two Group of Seven (A.J. Casson) prints. $250 total. Boy I am going to be sad when my house fund is spent. No more frivolous spending and jumping on Kijiji deals like this one. They are huge prints from a Swiss Chalet (apparently they got new art). They are gorgeous. Casson was the only of the seven to sign his prints, they aren't numbered prints, so I don't know if the signature is authentic or done by "Studio Ontario" who put the prints together for Swiss Chalet. The look so sharp! I know it sounds like a lot, but the prints are actually worth much more. The seller (a Swiss Chalet employee) was fl1pp1ng them and wanted $300 for both. I said my budget was $250 and he went for it! Win for both of us. I look at it like I paid for the frames and matting and the art was free. ***excuse the 1s SC does not like that word.
I wear thrift store clothing so my home can look like an art gallery. Getting closer to sharing photos with you guys of the finished product! Yay!!!

@ crochetlady wowzers your products are greatly in demand, you may need a protégé (lol),
