Just curious if anyone has had any luck in reducing their insurance rates over the years. I have been with the same company for 13 years with no claims for house or auto insurance but my rates seem to be creeping up every single year. I am paying $2k for a 7 year old auto. On both policies, I have high deductibles also to keep rate down.

We switched over to Grey Power about a year ago and were able to reduce our auto/tenant insurance by $40 a month

I would ask about the possibility of a discount. In the past, I was able to lower my auto insurance by taking a free defensive driving course offered by my employer and also scaling back unnecessary coverage. Since you are with the same company for auto and home insurance, I would like to believe that you are able to at least qualify for a multiline discount--I was able to do this with State Farm when I switched to them.

I am new to insurances and I find it interesting. I'll talk to my agent about it and hopefully find some long term good news about it.

I go through TD Melloche Monnex, since I am a university alumni and get group rates. I suggest looking for insurance companies that are affiliated with someplace you are associated with.

I also suggest TD Meloche Monnex. My car insurance actually went down $4 per month this year when I renewed my policy. It's not a lot, but I'll take an extra $50. Plus, my policy is only about $900 for one 8 year old car, so the rate can only go so low.
Bundling your car insurance with your home insurance, or tenant/content insurance can also give you about a 10% discount on both. That's what I've done - bundled my insurance and I have an alum discount with TD - decreased my rates by about $500.
