Walmart.ca false/misleading advertising rant!(settled)

My message to Walmart today:

I placed two orders on a Bed-in-a-Bag Microfibre Bedding Set last week. At the time of purchase, the items are clearly named as and photo shows a Bed-in-a-Bag Microfibre Bedding Set, description claims the set includes a comforter, bedskirt, fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillowcases and pillow shams. Today I received the package, and they all turned out to be a Durvet Cover?! I pulled up my receipt in my email and it still shows I have ordered Bed-in-a-Bag Microfibre Bedding Sets, but when I click on the link to the item, it has magically became a Durvet Cover and labelled “Unavailable”. Walmart, you cannot just swap an item into something else without the customer knowing, you didn’t even bother letting me know there was a problem with the order! This is called false and misleading advertising and its illegal in Canada. I called the 1-800 # and explained the whole situation, was told a supervisor will be calling within the hour. I have waited for almost two hours now and nothing! The frustration is driving me !!

I experienced this one time too. I ordered a medium of a sleep sack for my son and they shipped small. So I thought, ok, either I ordered the wrong size or they just shipped the wrong size. Nope. They switched it online too.

after some conversation with two supervisors and one CSR, the head office finally approved to honor me the bed in a bag sets at the price of my original order, but its going to take until Monday to arrive. At first they were only going to give me 10% discount on my next order, but I did not give in, because I thought that was not a fair conclusion to the issue. I m much more content with the result now.

Good for you! It seems Corporations keep scamming people more and more. Unfortunately Corporations run the world and citizens keep electing their Corporate political representatives.

Good for you to be sticking to your guns. They have no right to do that. They should have sent an email and advised the item you ordered was unavailable, not send you something totally different. I'm so proud of you for staying strong and getting what you ordered at the price you ordered it at. WTG!
