Binbrook library users-here's a temporary location update to be aware of:

The temporary Binbrook location will be closing after Saturday, Jan. 13 in order to move back to the renovated location. Holds for pickup at Binbrook, that have not yet been filled, have been suspended until the end of the month when the renovated branch will open. This includes any newly placed holds up until that time.

Westdale branch will resume Friday hours starting this week (yay to another branch in the West side of Hamilton having Friday service-woohoo!).

Spring Program guides are showing up in branches! I did notice one workshop for Barton branch about Pro Bono lawyers to make wills and powers of Attorney for people who cannot afford these services in Hamilton.
Just so you know, any Ontario can write up their own Power of Attorney for health and for finances using the kits provided by the Ontario government. Obviously, the more complicated one's own situation is, the better to think things through before committing the words on paper.
Two branches will be open on Monday, Feb. 19 for Family Day-Central and Turner Park, 1-5pm.
All other branches will be closed.
Next week, the temporary Dundas branch location will close in preparation for the regular site's re-opening!

The temporary Dundas Branch location at 55 Cootes Dr. will be closed beginning Thursday, February 22nd, to relocate to 18 Ogilvie Street.
The Bookmobile will be open Friday February 23 10am – noon in its customary spot behind the Ogilvie St branch, in the large parking lot.

Locke Branch will close for renovations starting Saturday, March 3 at 5:00pm. The Branch is expected to close for a period of seven months, reopening in late 2018. Click here for more information.
Some changes during renovations:
All Locke customer holds pickup locations will be changed to Westdale after the closure. Customers who would prefer a different pickup location can contact Locke Branch staff to make the change.
The branch will not move to a temporary location during the closure, however, a Bookmobile stop has been added to the Melrose United Church parking lot (off Stanley Ave) every Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm starting Friday, March 9.
The drop box will not be available at the branch location. Customers can return materials to any other HPL location or Bookmobile stop. The closest branch locations are Central Library, Terryberry and Westdale.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work to improve this great community space.

HPL website indicates that Dundas branch is expected to open on Monday, March 5 (it's been about a year since the branch started renovations if not longer).
Website maintenance will occur tomorrow morning between 5-9am.

Beside the branches being closed on May 20 & 21 for Victoria Day, they will also be closed on Friday, June 15 (rather than on the Wednesday) for their Staff Development Day.
Also note that the last day of Sunday branch service is Sunday June 24, then there's is no Sunday service until September 9. Plan your summer accordingly!
Reminder-all Hamilton Public Library branches will be closed this Friday June 15 for a staff development day. Also, the database is getting upgraded on Friday so don't wait to check your books out or look at due dates or download e-books!
Sunday Service has two more days left in June before summer service applies (no Sunday hours in July or August).

Red Hill branch will have study hours beginning September 10. For patrons 14+. Hours will be 9pm-12 midnight, Mondays to Thursdays.
*Change in Annual Book Sale dates: this year's event will occur in OCTOBER. Dates: Oct.15-20, at Central Branch, from 9am-9pm Mon-Thurs, Fri 9am-6pm and Sat 9am-5pm.
