It's been 2 years that we have lots of Earwigs and for that reason no gardening. I had someone came and spray the yeard 2 times this year and 1 more time in june next year and than we will do some gardening again. The Earwig are from a neighbour and she does nothing about them so we have to take matters in our hands. Cross fingers for next year. I dont want to go crazy again next because thei make me go crazy.........................................

Uhg, I'm sorry to hear that, Ticul. I am not a fan of earwigs! I haven't seen them the whole time I've lived in northern BC, but I grew up in NS and we definitely had them there. I hope they go somewhere else next summer so you can enjoy your yard and garden if you want to!

I can sure relate to this. I have back problems - some days I can function alright (though still in pain), and other days, I can barely get out of bed. I am really grateful that my DH does the heavy lifting, digging potatoes at the end of season, etc. I can plant and weed, though I often have to do it in small bursts. Gardening is my main hobby, though, and planning for my garden is what gets me through our winters relatively sane! Raised beds have been very helpful for the things that need the most weeding, and it has made things a bit easier on my back.

1) No land/not enough space
I live in a condo without balcony, but I still try. It is as much garden as one can do in my situation, mostly herbs and flowers. The frustration is that one can only do so much with containers.
3) Health problems make it difficult or impossible to garden
I have arthritis, hip pain, anemia and underactive thyroid. There are days that I can't even get myself to shower, let alone feeding the plants. Dead plants along my breakfast nook screams, "You are a horrible failure! Can't keep a plant alive!" (I get very anxious and depressed when my thyroid level is low) If you've read "Hyperbole and a Half" by Allie Brosh, my feelings about plants is like her feelings towards cleaning, going to the bank... up and down with depression.

We have it too and I was not finished putting the garden to bed, at least it will probably melt, hopefully.

Everything but 2 and 3. Sad, really... I suppose when I grow old I will do something about it
