Hello from S Korea
Hi Everyone,
It's great to find another forum to share and receive advice.
I've been teaching in S Korea for 15 years and am getting anxious to return to Canada for my retirement in a few years - hopefully!
So, I'll be seeking some advice about finances.
I like sports - especially hockey and I spend a lot of time practicing golf.
Cheers everyone

Welcome, Marcus! Hope you learn lots. When are you coming back to Canada?

When am I coming home?
Hmmmm. I've been ready to come home for a while, but, there always seems to be a reason to stay one more year.
My wife is Korean and her parents are older and she's close to her mom, which I understand.
My mom is also getting on in age, but, she has my sister and 2 brothers closer by.
I'm thinking 3 years more maximum for me and if I can come home sooner - should something 'serendipitously (sp?) appear, yeah, a year earlier would be nice.
Contracts here (S Korea) are generally for 1 year, so, 3 more contracts at the most - hopefully just 2 more.
I miss home a lot - just all the little things about Canada. At the same time, my job is okay and I still like it, so, on the one hand the mature and responsible thing to do would be put nose (or rather keep nose) to grindstone for 3 more years.
Another part of me believes, hey, I"m done, I'm going to play now; golf, ski, etc, still don't mind shopping and cooking and cleaning but I"m not enslaved to those things.
That's a bit of my philosophy.
