My first event I'm attending this year is an interactive game where players use their smartphone to search for clues around the city to 'save the world from a zombie apocalypse'.
I'm pretty excited... Just hoping there won't be rain!

Me and DH will dress up and go out with some friends. I am sure it will be fun, fun, fun. We never go out so this is special for us. We will have our friends over for a drink first and than go out. I am excited...............................

The usual. Decorate the house and wait for 600+ kids to show up.

Sniff.....Halloween is my favourite holiday but I've recently moved to an apartment, so I won't be going all out like in previous years decorating the house; carving fancy pumpkins; making up goodie bags; etc. I ended up selling my 'outside' decorations on CL before we moved.
I'm really bummed about it as it was something I really enjoyed.....
I'll still do some decorating inside my apt but it won't be the same.
(Remember a few years ago when we got those big chocolate bars on redemption (+ points back) at SDM? I also gave out cans of Nestea (free with FPC's and free again and again.....) I was the hit of the neighbourhood lol

Pfft. I forgot all about my own costume. Thanks for the reminder! I'll need to muster my creative juices.
Not sure what the kids plan to be this year; guess I should ask them. lol
We aren't doing anything special. Just the usual trick or treating."Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

The boys are with their mo this year for Halloween but we ordered their costumes - both wanted to be some sort of archer but with the fabric store gone in town now it worked out way cheaper to just order the costumes from party city. They are both excited.
We painted some wooden decirative tomb stones bf had in the shed to put out. It should look neat.

I can't do scary movies. I have such a hard time watching them and dealing with the dark for weeks
I can't wait to see all the kids dressed up in their costumes. Some of them are so creative. Too cute for my own good!!!

Unfortunately I have to cancel Halloween AGAIN this year because DH will be out of the country and Halloween is a 2 person production here.
BUT usually we set up the graveyard fencing ( made from 2x4s an surveyors stakes painted grey) complete with 8foot columns( made from concrete forms) that have flaming cauldrons on top.
Just inside the entrance, I have a Grim Reaper that cautions people away, he'll take your soul etc in a creepy voice and laughs
Inside I have the undead automatronics rising up from graves, fog with up lighting.
I have an old swingset that has a zombie girl swinging and singing in a creepy voice as well as a zombie boy on a tire swing making zombie noises.
By the front door, I have a massive growling, shaking, frothing dog coming out of the bushes. And on the other side, I will have a jumping prop of some kind( usually a spider).
And then inside it is decorated to the nines as well, too detailed to go into.
Check out Spirit Halloween and you will see a lot of my automatronic props thereLast edited by wolfwoman; Sun, Oct 5th, 2014 at 06:55 PM.

That sounds great for trick or treaters. How soon is he leaving?
It's okay to have Halloween decorations up a little bit earlier than normal if you must =)

I live in a condo that doesn't allow us to do the whole halloween thing like it should be done but that doesn't matter this year as it's a Friday night and I have to work anyway. So I'll be at work during the peak of the holiday. Kind of depressing as I wanted to go to a friends place that lives in a residential area to hand out candy and things. Oh well, maybe next year.
