Oh, I have such a sad little life! What a joke! I don't coupon because I have to, I coupon because I want to. I could brag about what I have and how much I dropped on stuff but what does that prove? Anyone can do that. But it takes a smart savvy shopper to get stuff for low cost or even better for free. Yes, I have such a sad little life!

Hate to say it, but its not the first time Ive come across these "other sites" bashing SC. All you gotta do is google around and there have been a few differnt ones over the years! Even past members complaining about things!

I figure life's too short to worry about what anonymous people have to say on-line about couponing -- or many other subjects for that matter. To each his own. It isn't the first SC has been the subject of negative comments and it won't be the last. I would venture a guess that if the guy needs to post things like that then his life obviously falls quite easily into the "unfulfilled" category.

There are plenty of people on here who have bad things to say about other forums too. We typically delete the comments, not only bc the links get censored (and it gives the other site advertising) but because people should feel comfortable wherever they choose to be - here or one of the other sites (or on multiples).

Like others have said, it is not the first time it has been said about SC, it won't be the last. Personally, I like saving on groceries so I can go "waste" my money on stuff I want rather than stuff I need. I find it amusing that the majority of the time people post these, their past posts are about how they bought 10 of some gadget that went on sale and sold them on kijiji or saved a minor amount on some overpriced electronics.

There are some people who don't have money for the extras in life and I am quite happy being part of a community that helps people save on what they need. The way I see it, if I want a new sound system, I research the price, I check regularly for sales and buy when I am happy with the price advertised - I don't need a forum full of "get xyz sound system for $299 and zyx for $189" every day - if I want one, I am regularly checking and if it is a crazy cheap deal worth buying even if you were not thinking of buying one I am sure it will be on every forum and site. I can't wait for sales on the fresh stuff I use every week, I use coupons and PMing to reduce the price.

There are people who like that forum and there are people who like this one and there are people who like both. They're very different, and their target audiences are VERY different. This site is mainly female, that site is mainly male. We are more about coupons and all-around saving, while that site is more about 'hot deals' and things on really good sale.

They both have their merits and there is bashing of that site that goes on here, too. But I do think a lot of comments made in that thread are entirely baseless and quite stupid.

It's easy to get the best price on a $500 TV (with research, once every decade)

However, $500 worth of groceries means getting the best price on several HUNDRED items every month
