A very sad day today at Walmart finding out they are discontinuing their store brand meats, and will only carry Maple Leaf branded meats....:bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawl ing: from chicken, pork, beef, fish, they are now all Maple Leaf branded. That means NO MORE PRICE MATCHING meats at Walmart unless is Maple Leaf brand!:bawling::bawling::bawling:

When I worked at Walmart in Hamilton a few years ago - they told us that all chicken was maple leaf anyways and all the beef came from an Alberta company. Now that I moved to Regina all the products are totally different here.
I am still able to pm this as should anyone, Its not a "maple leaf" product according to maple leaf site or maple leaf prime site... don't see it under list of products. Looking into wiki Maple Leaf is a meat packer that is now using there logo on the labeling.... I compared the old packaging price to this new packaging price and the newer ones are actually less per kilo....
looks like i m the only one who is having trouble with it, may be I just got the wrong cashier or something, will try again next week with another, hope it works out for me, because I will be :bawling:
Mine doesn't PM meat anyway but the cashier mentioned the change today too
It's all one and the same company....Maple Leaf Foods has meat processing plants. Maple Leaf owns the logo, so no one else can use their logo on their product - only Maple Leaf can. Maple Leaf processes meats, as well as other foods.
