Keeping Trade Forum Organized - 3 Threads Max & 1 Bump / 24hrs

The trading forum only works if everyone does their part by following the trading rules.

We discussed this to death in 2013 and even naming and shaming members has not worked with the same people having too many threads or bumping constantly all the time: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/342685-...-forum-canada/

So here is the new thread for 2014

New members will receive a reminder of the rules. The full list of trading rules can be found here but the basics

• 3 threads MAX allowed at any time in the trading forum
• You may bump once every 24 hours
• Use accurate titles and prefixes (do not use Other for trading, it shows me that a thread is a discussion like this one)
• Expire threads when coupons are gone
• Do not discuss bad trades anywhere but the blacklist thread

If you cannot expire your thread for any reason, hit the report button and ask a mod to do it for you.


If you break these rules:

• New members will receive 1 reminder
• Existing members will receive a warning posted in this thread for 3 months and have extra threads expired
• If your name is shown in this thread and you do it again, mod action will be taken

I am sorry to come down so hard on people but we have tried several methods without serious mod action in 2013 and some people seem to think they are above the rules. If you make extra threads and bump them constantly, other traders in turn do the same thing and the whole forum is a mess.

As usual, I will do a sweep once a month and expire anything that has not been bumped in 3 weeks, if you actively use threads, please keep them current and bumped

If you notice someone bumping a lot or with more than three threads, please PM me with the person's username and links to their threads (please double check the username is correct, some users have very similar usernames)

The forum has been cleaned and these rules are now in effect.

After a certain amount of time, SC does not allow for title edits and sometimes breaks the thread when edited, so Jan 1st is a great time to expire your old thread and paste the details into a fresh one!

First check of the year and no one has over 3 threads

Any threads that have not been bumped in 3 weeks are expired

Any over 3 weeks old have been expired. If you were still using them, please remember to bump them every couple of weeks. You can find the thread by searching for all threads by you in your settings if you want to copy/paste them into a new thread
