Thanks for the heads up! Doesn't bother me that they set a limit. I think it is only fair.

I recently went to buy some peanut butter... All expired... Sometimes self clearing isn't so bad... If done by people who donate.... It helps many and helps put a better expiry date on the shelf.... With all the stores that allow price matching I really don't get why people get so worked up. Many wm already had this policy kinda in place already in the background requiring a csm to approve a transaction at the end....

They seem to have a new system for FPCs too. She had to scan the item and press a button, enter the coupon and it shows as $0 on the receipt.

That's good that they are taking steps to curb coupon abuse.

The major problem that I have heard is people buying things with coupons getting it free and then coming back trying to get a refund on the full amount... This I completely disagree with.... It's wrong on so many levels. I hope wm does more to stop those kind of couponers... Looking at the above receipt it seems like it's kinda what they are preventing... Or trying to combat.... As it seems if you tried returning it the product it be worth $0.. They should also limits without receipts....

There is a big thing going on in my city right now (Halifax) and its all over my facebook coupon groups about one woman really abusing the poise coupons. Apparently she is going to one walmart, getting $100+ (one walmart employee said $212 on one trip) in overage and then going to another walmart to return all the product for a gift card. This may have sparked the new changes since the staff caught on and apparently the police were involved.

Something reasonable to one is not reasonable to all. We shop 2 times per month (pay day). We will get what we need for 15 days which may include 12 packs of 500g Ground beef, 6 boxes of cereal, 5 500g peanut butter and so on. We are 6. So not all "shelf clearing" is abuse.

something just came to mind, one CSM once told me about some people are using coupons for food items and returning them brand new sealed just to get the full cost back. She hates that because all return food items goes to the trash, which is a big waste of food! Non food items can be put back on shelf given its brand new sealed, but not food items.

Ok well that explains my trip to Walmart today....It would not have been such a horrible shop if they had just showed me the new policy update. Instead they made me feel like crap.
I decided to not purchase anything.
It was fun while it lasted!!!!
