Dropped youngest off at a friends this morning for a few hours so went and grabbed groceries while out. Didn't spend much but picked up good things to get us through the week healthy! We are making last nights dinner tonight ( chicken breast, carrots, rice etc) since we were tired And got Chinese food. Off to the garage now to deal with the books and put all the tables away and sweep. Beautiful day today! My mom is doing my bed sheets today. She dropped all our other laundry clean and folded. She is awesome. Will put it all away after DS's hockey game while he is in tub.

I've heard nutmeg and allspice (but doesnt allspice have cinnamon in?)
allspice is a little hard berry that is ground up, you can buy whole ones and ground ones at the bulk barn, hope that helps!

    Hi all,

Dh & I went to the re-use it centre today.

I got Jaden 2 long sleeve shirts 1 of which is Tommy Hillfiger. Also got him 2 short sleeve tops as well. Found Logan a green lantern shirt . Got myself a winter jacket so happy as I only have dressy jackets and well they look pretty but aren't warm . Also got some neck warmers so were good on that front

So have all the new clothes washed and hung downstairs drying .

I have spaghetti sauce out for tomorrow and chicken drumsticks thawing for Tuesdays dinner.

We were late for Jaden's appointment last week to get his DTC questionnaire filled out (stupid traffic in the country???) so we are off for our rescheduled appointment tomorrow am and then we will stop and pick up his winter coat.

    Inquiring Minds Want to Know!!!!

Have you started your Christmas shopping?

Do you have a set date "mentally" to be done?

If you are giving someone a gift card do you give them a token gift to accompany it? (something small/cheap)

Do you have a budget cap, so much per person.

Do have a Chris Kringle budget as well?

Yes very slowly but more so as I can afford it , I have been picking up the odd stocking stuffers as I see them.

Do you have a set date "mentally" to be done?

Yes I want to be mostly done by November 30th only exception being Logan as he is very hard to shop for

I do give a little something normally from the dollar store

Do you have a budget cap, so much per person.
I absolutely have a budget and try with all my might to not exceed it especially when it comes to the kids

Do have a Chris Kringle budget as well?
Yeppers this is probably the most expensive and stress induced gift giving/shopping

We only do gifts for a few people. I got something for my friends back in the summer and put them in a safe place. Problem is...it`s such a safe place I can`t find them.

7 AM to 7 PM is the cheapest, followed by 11 AM - 5 PM for mid-peak rates.

For tonight's supper I made sweet and sour meatballs (ones that I had previously cooked and frozen) with rice, boiled veggies and a glass of milk. There are leftovers. Early this week I plan on making fried rice with a chicken and veggie stir-fry. LO has gymnastics at 6pm tomorrow. I teach Tuesday afternoon and have a meeting at 7pm that evening. Tuesday is also 10% off at Sobeys, so I plan on getting some groceries that day. I am booked to teach the full day on Thursday.

Have you started your Christmas shopping?- no chances are probably won't for another month. (so not my style)

Do you have a set date "mentally" to be done? - we will be done decorating etc by the 15th. dh's last day of holidays

If you are giving someone a gift card do you give them a token gift to accompany it? (something small/cheap)- only in a card. its only dh, kids on our lists. parents don't need anything, maybe a few baked goodies.

Do you have a budget cap, so much per person.- not sure yet, maybe $200 for dh and $100 for kids.

Do have a Chris Kringle budget as well?
    not sure what this is.

Good evening! Our son just left after having supper and a visit here - loaded him down with meals for a few days, as well as some grocery staples and leftover Hallowe'en candy.

Grocery shopping this aft - we were really low on meat, so used a raincheck for three packs of ribs and got the weekend special sirloin steaks from Safeway, as well as just needing some veggies, bread, etc. That meant a bigger bill than usual, plus we don't usually shop at Sway, but there were some good deals on. They have a buy a Renee's dressing at 3.99 (my FAVE is Mighty Caesar) and get a free dip - got spinach, worth $5.
Even though I had roasted a chicken for supper, picked up the roasted chicken meal there for use in another meal - and got a large mojos, potato salad, and buns for $11.

So our little fridge is full - I have to go through it in the morning and repack some things for freezing.

Hope everyone has a good night!

QOTD-No to all of your questions! Been so busy with the new wee twins( who thankfully are thriving) I have not even thought about Xmas yet. I am rather hoping that when I am in India for a wedding before Xmas I can pick up reasonably priced gifts there! Lets hope so or I will be scrambling when I return on Dec 15!
