Sold the playbookm for $50. A little shocked. .after i arranged a pick up time someone else msged me snd tried to get me toback out on the original buyer. Even offering me extra $$ and would have picked up last night.then had the audacity go be mad at me wheni said no i had an agreement already made. If tge buyer backed out id let her know.
We have a friend over to watch the grey cup.i splurged last night and bought the pricey gin to try some of the davids tea cocktail recipies. If i dont like them ( which I've decided they are ok but not great) bf likes that type of gin so it wont go to waste.Last edited by saundyl; Sun, Nov 30th, 2014 at 04:19 PM.

Hi all. Busy weekend. DS's hockey team had to canvas for money this weekend for fundraising. So over Friday evening and Saturday during the day each kid had to do 2x1.5 hour shifts( we did 3 hours straight). His team collected $2500.00!!!!! Isn't that crazy???? I'm blown away by the total. Then we met the team at a local outside rink for a fun game and then they BBQ'd hotdogs. Kids had fun. Today had a hockey game then we sneaked off to casino for free lunch and I cam home with about $45 extra which was nice.

Yup, when I say these are my neighbours, I mean it. The Distillery is literally across the street from me. From my condo to the closest entrance takes me less than 5 minutes (& I don't walk terribly fast these days). Some of my cranky neighbours whine about the noise, but I love all the activity. It's great in the summer, cause I have my window open and can hear concerts that they have. Today was so nice (12C!) that I had my window open and was listening to Xmas music.

Not sure what has happened thus far with your sister. With me, I had to go through a whole whack of tests (bloodwork, ecg, x-rays) just to make sure I was healthy enough to be put on the transplant list. I also had a very cold frank discussion with the surgeon, a psychologist and a nurse about the pros and cons of having a transplant (there are risks, as with anything, and a transplant while making life easier has its share of issues). Once they were satisfied I was sure that I wanted to be put on the list, they interviewed my parents. I didn't want either to donate a kidney to me, although both were eager to and perfectly healthy, but it really wasn't my decision to make. As it happened, neither one was a good enough match (which in the end worked out better for me, cause I was put on a list for both a pancreas & a kidney). The process took several weeks. Once they decide the patient is ok to be put on the transplant list, they back-date the application to the first day of dialysis, so there is no rush to get through the process. It's incredibly frustrating, but they need everyone to be in the best frame of mind possible for such a huge surgery (mine took 10.5 hrs).
As for testing, your local hospital should be able to run the tests, so you shouldn't have to travel just for that.
It's going on 12 yrs since I had the transplant (as of Jan), and this process happened 2 yrs before that, so some of the details are a bit hazy.
If you have any questions or if I can help in any way, let me know.

Sending prayers for your sister, MrsSunshine and for your friend Lilo. I'm hoping there are lots of Christmas miracles to go around this year.
I often think the same thing. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all meet someday and travel wasn't an issue?
That's such a lovely area. DH and I went exploring once and almost had our engagement photos taken there. They wanted an obscene amount for a few photos with friends so we opted out, but it was a lovely place. I don't know how they can tell if you're just taking some pictures for fun or as a tourist as opposed to a professional shoot, but I'm sorry I asked. It was just a friend with a point-and-shoot camera, not like we were bringing in special lighting or props.
Ok, off to join the December thread.

You should have done what most people do - take pics against the brick wall of my building across the street. The weirdest photo shoot was a wannabe photographer and his model set up in our loading bay where the garbage bins are stored - it was the middle of January, the poor girl was barely dressed and Lily dog & I ruined the shoot by coming out the back door and the nosy roommate of mine running up to them. Then when Lily dog saw the camera, it was all I could do to get her out of there - she LOVES having her picture taken.
