Slow Cooker Squash - So Easy!
I saw this link posted on Facebook this morning and within a few minutes, had popped two squash into my slow cooker. A few minutes ago (six hours later), I took the squash out and am so impressed! It is thoroughly cooked, nice and sweet, no scalding, *easy* to remove the seeds, and clean-up was a dream. This is my new favourite way to do squash. :top:

The squash used by the author of this article was Butternut, but I cooked a smaller variety, about the size of an acorn squash. I see in the comments below the article that people have done small pumpkins this way, too.
The author mentioned cooking the squash on low for 8 hours. Mine were finished when I checked them at the 6 hour point, and likely were done at 5 hours.
UPDATE - This is such a convenient way to cook squash, but if you have any sensitivies to seeds, then you should probably cook them the usual way in the oven, cleaning out the seed pocket of the squash beforehand. :-)
