This promo is back this year but you need to spend $200 on two or more gift cards to get the 8000 bonus Optimum points which is essentially $10.
Last year you only had to spend $150 but SDM has increased the limit to $200 this year.
For anyone who is new to this promo, you need to purchase a minimum of 2 gift cards that total up to $200. You can however get 4 - $50.00 gift cards of your choice, ie. mix and match, Swiss Chalet, Keg, SMD or Canadian tire to total up to $200. DO NOT buy one gift card for $200 as you will not get the bonus points.
This offer is only valid from November 8, 2014 - November 14, 2014. Points will appear in your account by Friday, November 21, 2014.
Thanks to cyn888 for posting the early flyer.

So, the big question is... Can you do it more than once and still get the points or is this a one time offer per cardholder?

I am sure someone will link the thread but be wary of Esso cards. People had huge issues with them last year and having zero balance
i believe it is three transactions per card. So you could get a total of 24000 points.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Most of the cards I bought , between DH card and mine were Esso. One of my card's balance was stolen ( as I found out later , shortly after it was activated.) Luckily for me, I kept the receipt and Esso compensated $50 after short investigation. It took about a month to get a replacement. I'm planning to participate in the promo again.

I'm really hoping you can combine the Canadian Tire Card point deal which can nets 2000 per 50 or 8000 per 200, with this one ... and the credit card.
8000 + 8000 + 3000 = 19000 points per $200 spent.
If you could then it looks pretty good to me 2:
200 / 95000 * 19000 = $40 Value (20% back)
0r
170 / 95000 * 19000 = $34 Value (17% Back)
Otherwise its not nearly worth the effort. *Crossing fingers*
