We got up this morning and it was gently snowing. You know, those big fat snowflakes that look like marshmallows. And hubby was so into it that he put up our artificial Christmas tree! He said he was putting it up early to let the leaves settle. We have the kind that is in three parts and is like an umbrella. Also the tree already has lights. Soooooooooooooo, the tree is up and lights are on. Wanted to play some Christmas music but the darn CD Jukebox is being capricious again. so no Christmas music. But the thought was there.
Anyway, just wondering when do you guys put up your Christmas Trees and do you use artificial or real trees. We used to do real but it was a pain in the neck adding water. then one year hubby got the brilliant idea of getting a large basin and filling it with earth. Well the cats decided this makes a great kitty litter. So that was the end of our real trees. I love the smell of a real pine tree but now i just buy smelly pine candles. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

well.......I really want to but because of the 2 dog, 2 cat situation here it is pointless. There is just no good spot anymore. I have fabulous decorations too, some great newer LED lights, very frustrating but I think we are doing a repeat of last year, getting a real small plant that is a tree and string mini lights on it, placing it atop a shelf none of the animals can get to. Congrats on getting into the spirit at your place! We also had those adorable fluffy flakes this morning too, puts you right int he mood to do it.

I put my tree up on Wednesday and the kids and I decorated this past weekend I've been slowly pulling all my decorations out over the past week or so.
I've been putting up an artificial tree for years but I got a new one this year... it was 50% off at Michael's (from last year's stock, maybe) and it's the kind that falls right into place. I LOVE it! I DID buy these pine scented stick thingy's that you hang on the tree and it makes it smell all pretty.Last edited by sheetsofemptycanvas; Sun, Nov 16th, 2014 at 05:21 PM.

I put my artificial tree up last night. DH was working and everyone else had plans so I decided to do some decorating. I normally don't decorate until mid December but I was excited to use all my new decorations I got for 90% off at Target after last Christmas.

My tree is still at my parents place (recently moved ) But I did put some decorations up. I've decided to make some homemade decorations this year. I have a lot of crafty stuff due to my current career (ECE, I work in a daycare) so I have made a lot of stuff lately! Still working on some of them and hopefully by the end of the week it'll look like Christmas threw up here! :D
Hubby is already sick of Christmas Music. Especially Clay Aiken's "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day" since I had it on repeat for about 2 hours now!

same day as christmas shopping...december 24
I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.
