No surprize, as coffee crops have been devastated in countries where there have been droughts, such as Brazil. There, it ruined most of this past year's crop, as well as the one flowering for next year.
Still very cost efficient to make coffee at home in a good ole drip coffeemaker, though - and it's yummy!
Instead of a Keurig, I have a Hamilton Beach Scoop. Great for 1 cup.
I don't think a 10 cent raise is too bad, given the cost of the beans.
I can't comment on the quality of the coffee, as I don't drink it, but it is still DF's favourite (he will only drink their pods for our Tassimo, no other brand coffee). I imagine it's a to each their own sort of thing (I've heard a lot of people say they are going to switch to McDonald's - but he doesn't find a difference between the two, and still prefers Timmies).
But he currently pays $1.60 (with taxes) for a medium coffee, I don't think $1.70 is terribly unreasonable. Tim Hortons is also the only coffee shop in our town (although they did themselves a great disservice with their renovation - sure it looks stylish, but it eliminated a lot of the seating, and they used to get big crowds from the farmers and after church people).
The cost of coffee has gone up, so this doesn't surprise me. I always just make it at home.
I expected my breakfast order at Tim Hortons to increase by 10 cents today, but was surprised to see that it actually jumped by 25 cents. Ordered via the drive-through, got home and, "YUCK!" they got my order wrong. I can't drink coffee with sugar in it. Really not happy about this; I need my morning caffeine. Think I'll go crawl back under the covers and stay there. (If only!)
I noticed my order went up. Oh well, I drink it at home most of the time anyway. I will have to start taking one for the road.
...so why did the price of steeped tea go up too? i don't think there are any coffee beans in it
I really enjoy a good cup of tea, but I only ordered it once at Tim Hortons, way to expensive for a tea bag and water..I rarely go to Tim Hortons I guess I don't like coffee that much, very expensive..
i payed $1.50- today for a SMALL coffee. WTF!
there was no other choice in the mall to buy a coffee from....grrrrrr
Well with their 10 cent raise they no longer get a tip from me as I get a large and its now $2 Im not digging out change for a tip.
The solution to the problem is stop buying coffee at Tim Hortons  then
