Someone already paid for the giftset, now you just have to go "redeem" the certificate for the perfume...so by that logic the answer is no. Points would have been issued to buyer.
Thanks to both of you - I didn't think I would get standard points but I was thinking it might qualify for product specific or category specific offers - I think I'll wait until Valentine's Day when we see lots of fragrance offers and see what happens - points are obviously just some icing on the cake!
You don't get points on $0 transaction which is what your total will be when you redeem your voucher.
I think I've done it before a couple years back. Got points when purchased and points when used voucher.
IF:
purchase $75 perfume sampler set, get 18500 points
redeem $75 perfume voucher, get 18500
use personalized email 20x, or 8000 wus $40 ect.
That's almost free. I don't get it.
Maybe it depends on the store or how cashiers ring it through??
I've received a few as gifts and have never received points when redeeming for the free perfume. I did ask once but they said since the person who bought the sampler pack already received the points I wasn't eligible for more points.
Good luck! Please post your findings. I'm curious now that others have said its worked for them.
If that works, I am so gonna purchase the mascara sampler.
K - I'm thinking the only way it might work is if there are bonus points attached with a specific brand or category so I'll wait until I see something like that and let folks know!
The only way I can see it not working anymore is if they changed the code on the new fragrance samplers so people don't get the points on the redemption part. Every year they have new samplers...maybe they caught on?
I've never received my points for a perfume voucher...There are instructions on how the cashier is to ring it in, there is NO WAY you will get points. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who has, its because the cashier didn't know what she was doing.
It is a PLU voucher, I always buy them when I am buying one of the perfumes included for the bonus samples but only get the points once
I usually redeem the voucher when there is bonus points on the particular perfume and do get those points.
Since the coupon will leave you with a $0 balance (if entered correctly) you will have 0 base points so 20x will give you 0 too
hmm.. didn't realize I'd cause such controversy. I checked with the wife, and she clearly remembers the cashier giving us points when we redeemed - it was at the fragrance counter, and the woman there insisted on scanning our Optimum card. We even asked if she was sure (we didn't think we would get points on the voucher), and she showed us on the receipt where it gave us the points - I wish we still had it now, but it was from early 2014 ... I'll see if the transaction shows up on the points summary ? * Nope, only goes back 6 weeks
How about, YMMV with this points on a voucher. From the responses above, it may have been a lucky day for me.
Again, I think it makes complete sense that points would not be awarded for $ value as it's obvious that it would be the same as a 2004 coupon code, I really was thinking along the lines of whether or not points would be earned if say a particular perfume was issuing bonus points- patpond, 'm thinking hi I where you earned points - I'm still waiting until Valentine's Day as it will take longer than that to run through these samples! (although my 5 year old is making her best effort!)
I guarantee you that it worked for me and it worked for others. Not sure if it has changed in the past year or so but it worked 100%. It worked well on Spend $75 get 18,500 BP.
It may not work now (I have no idea currently), but I guarantee you it worked before.
The store that I redeemed the 2 perfumes one year ago insisted on not giving me my customer receipts to me, not even letting me look at it, at the cosmetic counter. The beauty boutique manager said they needed the receipts for their information and submission to the head office. I was like thinking, couldn't you just print out a copy and give me my customer copies? Would someone accuse me of stealing when leaving the store?
You should ALWAYS get a receipt, what if you go into another store that sells the perfume and they accuse you of stealing it from their store
They can print a duplicate receipt if they need it
