yum yum cheap deal
yum!!! i saw nanaimo bars in the bakery case at starbucks today and was thissss close to buying one, but you got an entire pack for the price of one at starbucks!
My mother always called these bars "New York Special".I make the bars from scratch, and people who buy from bakeries or use mixes just about go crazy eating the homemade ones. Base is graham crumbs, cocoa powder, walnuts, butter, egg, and coconut. Icing uses butter, milk, icing sugar, and Bird's Custard Powder. Cost is not bad when you're using many of the same ingredients in other Christmas baking. (I got most of my baking ingredients free with PC points) I use parchment paper under the base in the pan to make them easier to remove to cut. Cleanup is also easier with the paper catching much of the mess.
Good deal.Never tasted those but at this price I would. It look delicious!!! :)
