UPDATE: Looks like Target won't make it to December

    • Duties and taxes calculated at checkout
    • Low international shipping rates
    • Guaranteed landed costs (no additional charges at delivery)

    Fine print
International Orders are not eligible for: free shipping (including for REDcard holders), free returns, gifts/gift cards with purchase, gift wrap services, Cartwheel offers, subscriptions, registries, coupons, store pickup, warranties, extended service plans. Other promotional restrictions may apply.

It would work if the Cdn $ and US $ were at par and if an SCer knew which items would not prompt duties. One would need to be a customs rater to know...
Think Target can count on cross border shopping for the time being esp. on Black Friday while the US $ is worth more.

I was at the Closeout King in Toronto this week and they still had Target stock, including Halloween and Xmas displays. Lots of Boots & Barkley harnesses and leashes, odds and ends. Black's passport holders for a buck too.

    Since Black's is gone/going, that's a nice collector's item

I agree shipping is way too high, nobody will purchase..however most of the items Target sells amazon might have, so I'd rather check that out.
I also noticed there's appears to be some work going on in a Target area while I was going by... if anyone lives in Hamilton/ Queenston rd area? no news online as to what's going on.. maybe they're just ...cleaning up or something? I don't know..look's like some construction might be going on.
I keep checking online to see if Target will be replaced by anything yet.. in my area. Future Shop is gone too..Staples, La Senza..so many stores are closed and continue to close we have so many empty spaces :/ I hope they can be filled just as quickly.

Good riddance to Target. Their prices here were more than what you get when you cross the border. I know this because I am usually over there for work or pleasure

it gives me the impression that they gave into the pressure to make target available for Canadians(international market) online even though they aren't all that interested so they priced it so high (shipping and fees) to turn Canadians off from buying... soo yes they can say "look Canada we are available to you, we haven't forgotten about you" but in reality they aren't all that available(unless your ok with paying crazy fees) or interested in the Canadian market anymore

Now U.S. prices are charged still if you convert into Canadian money the shipping and duty taxes are still crazy expensive.

I can count on one hand the amount of time I spent in Target here, and what I bought. The US target on the other hand, always good deals to be had when I pop in there.

I was in the states 3 times this summer, and had zero desire to go to Target. I will not reward them for how s#!tty they were to Canadians.

In Canada I was there 2-3 times a week, it was my happy place, I got SO MANY DEALS. When they first opened here, their guy Fischer said that if Canadians aren't happy with Target Canada, they should simply cross the border to shop at Target USA. what???

They had a bad attitude towards the Canadian market, and it showed. Their store staff were amazing, but the americans who were involved in Target Canada were arses.
Here they were a much needed option, in the states there are so many other companies to shop at. I will spend my money at those other stores.
