Hibernating is definitely the plan here, too - it's just too darned frigid!
Yesterday we went from -3 to -37 in less than a day!
Happy Caturday!

Today, my tonsils have been acting up more than usual-will it turn into a cold or is the house air just in need of a blast of open window air?
Thursday, I played pantry surprise for lunch as I bought a $2 pkg of 4 red peppers. Diced one pepper and put it into a Dutch oven pot with contents of a 796ml diced tomato can (with salt), an 85g can of solid tuna in olive oil (put the oil in too), generous dash of dried tarragon, 1/2 cup of uncooked small pasta and about 2tbsp of leftover candied orange peel that has been in the cupboard for a long time. After about 15min and some more salt, I had an edible and very red pasta/soup lunch. There was enough liquid to help the pasta cook and the tuna took the edge off of the acidity of the tomatoes (forgot to add a bit of sugar to counter that) plus gave me protein. I had the leftovers for another meal.
@sassy Ashley - if a family member has a car and can take you to Pukadog (Hawaiian hot dog eatery) for a treat to make up for all the indoor time you have had to work/stay in, that would be a good outing. Sorry to learn of your injuries! Hope you still get some sun on the balcony and during your exploration jaunts. At least you are warmer there than here (and it will be somewhat cold when you return, so have your coat on when you board the plane).
@avoncallingu - you likely can take advantage of the milder temperatures this weekend to make the trip and pay your last respects. Flurries are still falling now in Hamilton.
For the Hamilton parents of teens, on the topic of frugality, there are two evening sessions during March Break at the Hamilton Public Library on Economics 101 at Ancaster Branch and Waterdown Branch. Registration is for 12 yr old and up. http://www.hpl.ca/sites/default/file...rch%202015.pdf

Good Morning All,
Today is our last day, we fly out at 10 something tonight. Technically we have the room until tomorrow so we can stay in the room until around 7 pm when we need to head to the airport which is nice.
We fly out at 10 something tonight, fly over night, have a 6 hour lay over tomorrow morning, and than we fly home and should be back at my Dad's place somewhere between 9 and 10 tomorrow. Than it is back to work and back to day to day life and seeing what is coming up for me work wise. I have quite a few side projects I am hoping to complete before our busy season hits, not sure when this will be as it all depends on the weather, sounds like as soon as the weather breaks we will be going full force ahead.
Just waiting for everyone to wake up so I can start try to pack my stuff to head home, we have all been living out of suitcases so more of less it is just straightening everything up. Also will move a bunch of stuff from my carry on to my checked luggage to make my carry on a little lighter even thought it was totally under weight coming here.
Hope everyone has a great day2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
follow along as tackle day to day life and whatever else 2021 throws at me:

Productive day of me so far! Snuck out at 9am this morning to get groceries. Came home and cleaned fridge out and freezer. Put stuff away. Cleaned kitchen. Started laundry. Put tons of laundry away. Even the odds and ends that were hanging to dry. Bathrooms cleaned. All garbage and recycling out to garage. Tacos ready to feed youngest before we head to hockey game. Chicken defrosting to make nice pasta dinner when we return. And then cuddling on the couch! Didn't get home till after 10 pm last night from away hockey game. TMoor row hope to keep at house stuff/ prep food and meals for week. And wash dog!

everyone hibernating from the last week must have been at the store today. wow.
and acted stupid, oh i have no idea where the actual parking spots are.. seriously?? not sure which was worse the stores or parking lots.
managed again to PM over half my groceries. ended up hitting 3 stores within the same plaza area, not so bad.
have two turkeys in the roaster, s&s meatballs in the crockpot.
will be starting shortly with tidying of house, not much more to do, some odd vacuuming, wipe down the bathroom.
i'll be ready for tomorrow. then were going to head to moms.
were expecting more snow tomorrow.Be Strong

We had a nice, but non-frugal family day. Out for lunch, Shoppers 20x points, Benevolence and home. We bought the girls a $2 surprise bag each at Benevolence for being good sports. We spent the last half of the afternoon, cleaning and playing with the treasures. The items were clean so I was pleased. They came with some Barbie like dolls that just needed a hairstyle and/or new clothes (I had some extra laying around). I am not a fan of the mini skirts so I change them. I have had quite a few deals as of late and will post some later. They are saving me money down the road deals.
A before and after would have done more justice! More pics later."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Well supper was delish (we ate early) as my routine is all screwed up since the surgery AND dh was starving, so I am pleased to say that dh now knows how to cook great shrimp
The kids decided to cook a pizza as they were not interested in shrimp & pasta so that means there is enough shrimp/pasta leftovers for another meal for dh & I....yummers.
DH & I were saying that if we were to order the same thing in a restaurant it would have been atleast $17.00 each x 4 meals= $68.00 plus drinks and no leftovers
and it only costed $10.00 AND I will say there is no way we would have gotten that many shrimp with our pasta so very true.2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!
