Granger's goals
February goals - Hubs and I have agreed to the original thread theme of "Frugal February" for the month. No spend days are our strategy, outside of fuel for the car and groceries. Between our van purchase and two pay checks in January which did not cover our budgeted expenses we have accumulated about $4000 worth of debt on the line of credit. Our 2015 started with no debt. Please excuse my talking about specific numbers because I think we are often too shy about them, so I hope no one takes offence. Talking about numbers makes me want to deal with them head on, accountability.
My goal is to erase our deficit outside the vehicle purchase for February which is about $500. The vehicle is about $3500 LOC debt and our goal is to pay that off within the year. We paid cash for the other 70% portion of the vehicle, so I am feeling pretty good despite the incurred debt.

1. Work on Jaden's old room (mudding, sanding, painting)
2. Have Logan move into Jaden's old room
3. Gut Logan's old room so that it's ready for spray foam (hopefully purchasing in March)
4. Bake once a week
5. Use PC MasterCard to accumulate points and transfer funds once home from groceries, gas, etc).

6. Do swagbucks everyday to accumulate points
7. Make $100.00 in February posting items for sale

lilo003's goals
Goals for the month:
Continue to eat from the freezer/pantry in order to keep the grocery budget in check. Our oldest is away for 4 days so that will help. At the same time Logan & DH are away for a tourney. So while food will be lower other costs are higher.
My second goal (inspired by J&C) is to pay the MC as soon as the reimbursement cheque arrives. We use the PC MC to pay for dental and massage but then never put the money on the card.
Also will be baking once a week, maybe twice as there has been a request for cookies as well.

Happy Feb 1st! A cold day here so we skipped a drive to the beach to walk the dog. Did groceries and found great steaks for the bbq marked down. So dinner is steak, baked potatoe and green beans (. .99 cents LB). Having a lazy break now on the couch with the fireplace on.

FBM-where are you off to? Or have you decided yet? DH and I have decided to start looking for a new car tomorrow but who knows if/when we will buy one-we all know the trick is to buy one before the current one gets into major repairs but who can predict when that will be-could be tomorrow or in 3 years!

@Angela273 -we trained DD#1 at 2.5 years...and found she is finally independent now at 4 years. DD#2 we just started training, she will be 3 next month, and she is almost as independent as DD#1. I think some kids need you to do it for them (we did the timer for the DD#1 every 20-30 min). The hope I can give you is the DD#1 was eventually able to stretch her bladder to 1.5 hours and then 2 hours so it became less labour intensive for us over time.
@sweet sparrow - our gas bill was higher than it has ever been (GTA Ontario), BUT we are in a 3000 sq foot bungalow and used to be in a 1300 sq foot townhome. Dec was an estimated month and Jan was read, so we are paying the difference, meaning that we probably used more gas than was estimated in Dec. Feb will be another estimate so we plan to put in our metre reading online. Our bill is around $300 not including our water heater rental and we have never had it over $200 before, even in the new house. We plan to do equal billing once we have been here a year.

We have one more pay period that will be tight due to the smaller than budgeted pay checks, but not as tight as the past two...I should see my raise on the next one, but the damage is already done. After that pay, hubby will get his first pay check from his new part-time job and our February baby bonus will come in. These two pays will happen the week between my own pays so we should be in a better position by the end of February. I will keep you posted.
I was looking for my January year goals to update, but may have done that in December so have to go back to that thread and look."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."
