Just jumping back in. Lynn so glad you are driving...don't know the story but I love driving. As someone who was afraid to drive, I ended up doing it for a living for 14 years. It's costly and bad for the environment but my kids are grown and doing well because of it today. I often took drives to give myself a break and diffuse my anger...back then and still. I am trying not to feed into my sc addiction. So far so good. I wasn't sucked into sdm offers and my bank account shows it. I love the deals but sometimes you really don't need anything. I'm working alot of ot right now so trying to focus on meal prep and laundry to make next week easier.

Yippeeee! I rarely ever go shopping on a Friday evening. But DS is with friends for a few hours so I decided after dropping him off to go to Superstore. The butcher was filling an end bunker so I took a look. Blue menu ground turkey for $2.18 kg!!!$! So of course I took all 8 packages that were priced at about $1.10 each! Came home and put 3 packages in a big bowl with a package of ground pork I bought yesterday and made burger patties. Have 8 patties cooking in the oven now ( too cold and dark to bbq) will be great for kids for lunch tomorrow ( and tonight if hungry again) and have 13 patties wrapped in the freezer for future meals. Will make a batch of Turkey meatballs tomorrow for the freezer and just freeze the rest to make future patties. I checked another package and the price was 12.78kg! Wow

^ I would never think to mix turkey and pork together; I guess in my head they don't go together...
What a great find though!

FBM I am jealous of the ground chicken!!I mix it with pork all the time, it makes it so much more flavorful and moist. Especially good to make won tons for soup !!

You are bang on on the ingnoring the sales saves money, sometimes I look and think I should go and then i tell my self to give it a day and usually forget what the great deal was that I wanted!!

-cant sleep in I guess cause I was up 3 time this week at 5.00 to watch "ashlyn' at 6.00a.m
-well I am going to be watching her into may/june talked to my daughter-in-law yesterday-i sort of decided may go back to work in the fall -may not (i love watching her)
-this week I have off -need to get more deal on clothing for me (just gave my daughter-in-law some clothing )
-my daughter has a bag of clothing-some may fit me -when ever I get to see her
-so proud of my daughter-in-law she went to once-upon -a child and got "ashlyn" a fewclothing-plus she went to target and got a few good deals - nice to see savings

Congrats on driving again Lynn, like most others I have no idea what I would do if I could not drive. Living in the boonies it has always just been a necessity. Although like others I do know of people who do not drive. My Oma is one never drove and I have no idea how she did it with kids at home living where we live it would have scared me. She was totally reliant on others but she never did learn to drive. On the flip side one of her caregivers did not drive and as soon as she moved in with my grandparents my Opa offered to get her driving lessons and she turned them down. Now after being with us for a couple of years she has now decided to learn how to drive. She has actually had quite an exciting year (sorry going off topic) she now has her drivers license and found our at Christmas she officially has her green card. She came her as an adult caregiver and has not had the easiest time as well taking care of elderly things change/happen (they move in with family and don't need her, get placed in a nursing home) so she has been very afraid of what would happen if something happened to Oma. But she now has her green card and can seek other employment and actually has been working for our company on her days off of taking care of Oma. Funny she came into our family as employee but after being with us for a few years and the way she has been able to work with Oma which cannot always be easy (she speaks broken English and at one point well alone in Florida with Oma, Oma forgot English and went back to only speaking German) she is now kind of part of the family.

I wanted to go grocery shopping today but do not think it will happen as I am finally started to feel better but pulled something coughing yesterday. The best way I can describe the pain is about the same as when I bruised my ribs quite a few years ago. Of all of the injuries I have suffered (there have been a lot, I am accident prone) the bruised ribs was by far the worst. The pain is always there as even breathing can hurt and the moment you wake up the pain is there and there until you go to sleep and you wake up at night in pain from moving or taking a deep breathe. So hoping it is not my ribs and it is just something muscle. I am going to try to hold out till Monday and go see my own doc instead of a walk in or ER.

So now it may be an extremely frugal weekend as does not look like I will be able to make it out. So not sure what the weekend will bring. Waiting for Mom to get up and see what her plan is for today and go from there.

Hope it is just a pulled muscle Sassy, hopefully some motrin will take the edge off.

Do be careful Sassy. A while back I thought I just was getting a cold. I had fits of coughing and thought I had pulled something(same symptoms) I ended up going to a walk in clinic on a Friday night. They said it was the onset of pneumonia and that I probably would have ended up in the ER before the end of the weekend. I started antibiotics that night and the pain subsided quite quickly.

Can't seem to get going today, will have to find some energy for tonight tho. I'm off to help out with Spoon River. I've heard rumours that the audience is seated in a cemetery so should be interesting. And complicated. We'll see. The show itself will be amazing (the talent involved never disappoints).

Maybe I need a nap. I really should start taking lessons from my boy:

Not loving this Internet purgatory but came across an item in the McMaster Student The Silhouette paper about noisli.com. It has background soundtracks for when you need something to help you work/study. It's great for use in the library with my $3.50 library headphones! Hence, the chirping birds (click on the triple pinetree icon to hear them).

good afternoon my friends.. a sad day for our family.
we lost a very very dear friend of ours. my parents long time neighbor. really reminds me of how precious life is. especially with my parents age/his.
my poor dad is lost. he was his 'second best friend'.
not sure what we'll happen to his family now. a 45 year old friendship lost to Alzheimer's. he will RIP now.

on a brighter note dh and i are doing groceries. keep my mind off the obvious.

hug your loves ones tell them you love them. tomorrow is a gift. :)
