    I am curious because I am in quite the predicament myself. haha I go back and forth between here and the states so I have a hard time dating people. I have, however, become very close to an online friend I have had for 3 years. Well, we just started "online dating" each other and he will be coming to see me next month. And I left something out... He lives in Northern Ireland.

    I think people dating online is normal and perfectly acceptable. It is more normal now then actually meeting people the old fashion way lol. You have also known this guy for 3 years and I am sure have talk on the phone etc. And the fact that he lives in Ireland and is coming to visit you means he is serious. Hope everything works out for you guys!

    Good luck! I hope everything works out for you! My sister met a guy on plenty of fish. Turns out he lived 1 hour away from her. They have been together for around 3 years now and live with each other.

    I have. And I married him. Best decision ever. He was from the US and we always joke that I imported him. lol He's my "mail order husband." haha

    I have never done it, but have two family members who have done it, one is married, and the other is pretty close to it.. Dating and meeting someone has changed so much over the years.. Good Luck to you!

    I think online dating took off in the early 2000's because all of the chat rooms boomed. Then Sjkype and online dating took off. I actually read 40% of marriages from 2009 to 2012 in the US were from people who met online. Not sure how true that is but if it is, I am not surprised!
