Hard work does pay off...A rewarding work brag!
Sooo... been at my company for over 7 years but only worked for 5 (2 kids). I always wanted to grow within the company because I am good at what I do but it is not easy at all, mostly because you have to kiss butt or be a favorite. After taking on a new role 2 years ago I saw an opportunity and since then have been working harder than ever. I work in customer service, we all know how that is but I take my job very seriously and in order to do my best I service my customers as if it were my own company and I am in the customer's shoes. Yes there are a lot of bad apples in every company but there are lots of Good ones. I never felt that the company saw my potential and never complained about it. The fact that I even had
a good job was a blessing yet I still pushed myself, I worked through my lunches and breaks just to help unhappy customers. They didn't know that but they saw it in my work and always get praised. Have you ever called in to customer service for a company and got the most wonderful representative and said to them in the end "I wish all agents were like you, can I speak with you every time? "Lol I know I have. I get that reaction all the time because I am a soft spoken person and I don't act like I care, I actually go the extra mile. So any who my hard work was recognized a couple weeks ago when I received $150 worth of visa prepaid cards because of my results in last year's last quarter. I was just so excited I realized they did notice. It got even better yesterday when in front of hundreds of employees I was recognized as the top performer in my department for customer satisfaction in all of 2014 across Canada and this time I earned a lot of claps and hugs and hand shakes from the directors along with a $1000 visa prepaid card!!!!!!. I held the tears in... they took pictures lol. I also got a VIP invitation to the big Gala in April that does an award ceremony In front of the company's VIP's. The point of my brag is not just the Visa cards but knowing what I love doing best is rewarding on it's own. I have been in customer service all my work life and wouldn't want to do anything else but make customers happy whether it be my own company or the one I work for. I can't make everyone happy but I do my absolute best.
On a funny side note... As I was presented with the gift card, my managers said to everyone out loud... "oh we all know she will be maximizing that $1000 with her coupons and deal huntings". They know me all too well!
Thanks for reading...... tell me, what would you do with $1150 in prepaid visa gift cards?
