everytime they move her from a roon to another one she loses contact with her surrounding world and switches to an imaginary world mixing real facts with fake ones.....hard to talk with her
thank you so much
p.s. if you find i'm asking too often for prayers.... think , i didn't even start talking about my extended family and my in laws....lol

She will be in my prayers, and so will you.
Is she in the hospital? Did you get her into a facility?

Ah, Mia...believe me, I know how difficult it is when one's Mom starts that slow descent downhill, both in health and mental capacity. How old is she?
If she's in the early stages of dementia, all sorts of things may seem confusing to her (and to us!)...she may develop something called "Sundowners" syndrome...My Mom used to "hear" people whispering outside her door, or outside the house and she was living with us! So no one was there, of course. She may accuse you of stealing because she imagines she's lost things...but try not to make any sense of it all....if she says the sky's pink, then it's pink. No worries. She'll maybe drift back to olden days and think you're her sister, friend, etc....some days my Mom knew it was me, other days I was her sister, and yet other days I was just this nice lady who came to visit. None of it is their fault....it's a confusing world now for them and our best resource is our patience and understanding.
I've been through it all, Mia...from her living with us for 12 lovely years, to finally having to place her in a nursing home (worst day of my life!), to seeing her through to the end...if you need to chat, or if you want to ask anything, please PM me. I know how difficult this is going to be and it's going to get worse if she indeed is starting with dementia and alzeimers disease.
If you understand what's happening, then it'll be so much easier to cope. Don't worry, just keep her calm, keep your voice soothing, and enjoy that pink sky!Last edited by Lynn49; Tue, Mar 31st, 2015 at 08:36 PM.

Hi, sorry to hear about your mom, will keep her in my prayers. I heard that music therapy goes a super long way. Maybe pull up a song she would always like, this way a new surrounding is not so strange for her?

What a lovely idea...I never thought if that and we enjoyed music so much. Whenever I'm in our van (the only time I listen to music now) and the Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody" comes on, I know my Mom's with me and I sing it out loud for her...I think we sing it together...this happens more often than it statistically should, I think....
She loved their songs...Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, Apr 6th, 2015 at 08:08 PM.

Thinking of you and your mom. It is so hard seeing a parent like this. Try and spend as much time with your mom as you possibly can. But remember to take care of yourself too.
