Fill a bag with bagels for $2.99
Once I saw a guy fit 13 bagels in the bag. Most people get 4-6 bagels per bag. Regular price is about $0.99/bagel

If I remember correctly, the top of the bag has 3 bagels sticking out. He stacked the bagels on their ends rather than lying flat. I think there were three bagels in each row.
3bagels x 4rows = 12 total. I don't know how he got the extra bagels in without breaking the bag.

8 works
Some Loblaws have a discount bakery rack with 50% off. Saw in store baked bagels, 6 pack for $1.50 (50% pink sticker price)
Other Loblaws stores go even further and after 530 PM, there is an orange sticker on pink stickered items, near the entrance. Saw 2 x 6 pack in store baked bagels for $0.50 each. So that's 12 bagels for $1.00

I got 7 in the bag and the cashier wanted to charge me for an extra one, but with a bad leer from me she finally said ok and let me have them.

i've always put a plastic bag over top any time I've done it so none fall out. I still only fill up the paper bag though. and I usually go to the self checkout with them, there's a code on the side of the bag you punch in and then weigh them. I've never had an issue
