Kofta Curry

Preparation Time: 40 Minutes
Serves: 2 to 4 Persons

Ingredients

For meat balls:


  • 10-12 mint leaves
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 500 gms fine mince
  • 2 tea spoons salt
  • 1/4 tea spoon ginger powder
  • 1/4 tea spoon red chili powder

For Curry


  • 1 inch fresh ginger piece
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tea spoon ginger powder
  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 60 gms oil
  • 600 ml yoghurt
  • 1/4 bunch Cilantro
  • 150 ml water


Directions


  1. Chop the mint finely; chop one onion and 2 cloves garlic.
  2. Add them to mince in a pot.
  3. Add salt, chili and ginger powder (1/4 teaspoon each), and make small balls of the mince and put them aside.
  4. Fry onion till light brown in oil, add tomatoes thickly chopped, yogurt and coriander powder, cook for low flame for 15 minutes.
  5. Add rest of the ginger powder and finely chopped garlic and cook for 15minutes.
  6. Add mince balls in the curry and cook for 30 minutes or till the mince is cooked properly.
  7. If more gravy is required add 150ml water and simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Serve with rice or bread.
