went to Esso today and bought $50 in Esso gift cards. Payed with my Amex card. Hopefully I'll get the statement credit for the transaction. It'll be a 20% saving.

Thanks for posting! I would have missed out. I'm also going to stop by Esso and pick up a giftcard. Will probably shop at Safeway a couple of times in the next three weeks as well.

hmmm, I am limited to Metro for my purchases since I only buy my gas at PetroCan, and no Safeway here in Ontario.
I wonder if I can buy GC's at Metro ( like a Petro Can one for example ) if they would qualify as my $50.00 metro purchase?

Got an email a few days after buying $50 of Esso gift cards at Esso. My transaction qualified for the $10 statement credit. woot Woot.
Checked my credit card statement this morning. The $10 credit has already been applied to my account.
WOOT WOOT. the fine print for the promo says it can take a few months to apply the credit, but I guess not in this case.
Have to remember to get more gift cards before the end of the month.
