a mini brag and a question
Cannot believe I had let my DD's supply of shaving cream dwindle down to the last can! Luckily P & G insert had the $1.00 off coupons and I snagged 2 of them, then printed off 2 of the ones from Smart Source for $1.00 off ANY Gillette shaving cream
( side bar rant...why were the Mens Gillette coupons $1.00 off but the ladies Gillette coupons were only .50 off? ) I printed the mens ones! hee hee, they said ANY Gillette cream
So at NF they were $3.19 a can ( regular price ....ugh! ) but with the $1.00 off each can, AND a PC Plus offer of 800 points per every $4.00 spent on these products I felt o.k. about it. The cashier was a bit hesitant to honour the 4 coupons, she kept saying
" there is a LIMIT of 1 per purchase " and I quietly and gently pointed out that each can had a coupon and each can WAS a purchase, but she allowed the line to build up to the point of aggravation on the part of the people waiting behind me.
Finally she let me have all 4 and I left thanking her. Then outside I noticed a shopper who seemed to be shuffling coupons and had her book/list in hand and seemed organized. I asked if she used coupons, she said yes and I asked her if she had ever encountered the problem I just had ( I told her about it )
Well shocker!! She tells me I was committing FRAUD! She said in Canada it is the law that you can only buy ONE item and use 1 coupon. Plus each store decides how they want to accept/interpret these, not us. Then I asked what would be the difference if I had gone out with 1 can, then came back in to get the rest , all in different transactions.....she said THAT is fraud! Also she said if I had adult kids for instance living in my home and they had come with me to make some of the purchases THAT is also FRAUD! Well I just let her speak , she said she was a marketing specialist or something??
So I decided to ask her is she knew or followed sc and she says. yeah I've been on there. So I said maybe I'll run this scenario of what happened at NF by them to see what their opinion is on it, and she said THEY should all know that it is fraud.
lol!! That conversation made me feel worse than the back and forth with the cashier.
sigh.....now what??
