RBC Shopper's Optimum Mastercard question

Looking for guidance from the gurus (bow) I finally broke down and applied for the RBC mastercard and got it today (haven't activated yet :D ).....OK so my question....the card is in hubby's name with his optimum card attached to it....and a supplementary card in my name
How does that work if I am looking to do a shop with my optimum card?? can I still use the mastercard and get all the appropriate points? Or do I need to use his optimum card with it?

You can use the supplementary mastercard with your optimum card. You'll earn points from using SDM credit card and points for using your Optimum card.

Yes.. what happens is this.

1. Shop as you normally would...
2. swipe / scan your optimum Card. You will get all the points you would normally minus the mastercard bonus points.
3. Pay with your Mastercard, or Better yet preloaded Gift Card, that was loaded with Mastercard.

However you don't see the Bonus Mastercard points right away. The Mastercard Points will accumulate over the course of the month, and we will be transfered once a month in a lumb sum fashion into the Optimum account holder of the Primary Mastercard holder, which is likely your Husbands in this case. But you can always transfer the points back to you.

You should apply now. You could be getting so many more points. Optimum isn't going anywhere.

But you can always transfer the points back to you.

Also, don't forget double the offers. I find when one card gets crappy offers, the other one gets good ones. Just remember the loading foolishness, and to swipe the correct one!
