Those of you who are lactose intolerant, do you 'trust' products like these? I just wonder, because recently I've had to up the number of x-strength Lactaid I take with dairy, and am worried that the amount of lactase these products add wouldn't be enough for me to avoid the dreaded sickies...

    thank you @potohgold !
@Natalka , I find yogurts are almost always okay, but have had trouble with lactose-free cheese.

I always test them out. I'll have them when I don't have anywhere to be. I have not had any problems with Iogo or Yoptimal yogurts, but I can't tolerate Biobest yogurt. Milk seems to be okay for me and I usually drink Neilson or Natrel and I don't really have problems with cheese. I'm eager to try this Allegro, if I can only find it in store. I have been eating Anco's gouda. No problems there. Maybe you're building a tolerance to Lactaid, or your intolerance has become more severe?

Thanks - but oh, testing can be so painful, gah!
Yes, my intolerance has worsened with age - was diagnosed in my late 20s, started just taking regular pills, then a decade later had to move to extra-strength, then to two in my 40s, now in my 50s, I just had to up to three pills.

Has anyone seen the cheese in stores? I've been to No Frills, Loblaws, Metro and Food Basics and haven't seen it.

I've seen it at Metro, near the cream cheese section
