^ too bad the soup didn't work out well for you.
The one my mom made was not a cream soup, and was not blended; neither did we put sour cream on top. I found this pic and recipe - the pic seems to come close to what I remember... but I'll never really know for sure.

But gee, it's a huge reminder for everyone - GET your mom's, auntie's, and grandma's recipes!

The soup was OK- just not impressed with the sorel taste.; I just avoid potato most of the time (Type 1 diabetic). I was glad to make it and really happy to experiment with my Vitamix blender and how it pulverized foods. Come fall I hope I can make tomato sauce leaving the skins on the tomatoes.

I so enjoy seeing your pictures, KidSteph! Your property is gorgeous and your garden looks professionally done. I hesitate to post pics from ours - extremely lowbrow by comparison!

First salad of the year. Very fresh. Perennials are coming along nicely too. Now it feels like spring and summer.....finally!

Random photos. So far I harvested over 170 cups of strawberries and 1/2 cup raspberries - everything is late this year. I had lots of garlic scapes and herbs and kale and lettuce. Plus fun making signs for the property (hubby, not me). More to come but slowly.

Your strawberry pie looks wonderful--esp paired with a scoop of Hagen Dazs ice cream!
The garden is a delight to behold.

Random photos. Everything is late due to the poor weather.
